Talking about insufficient cooling, you might want to have more fins in the radiator and a bigger fan (larger diameter, more blades or both). A good starting point might be a petrol or TVO radiator as they tend to get much more heat than the diesel ones (but I'm not very familiar with the differences).

Hi, not sure about the turbo but I know a couple of people who have put the 5.1 BMC in a Nuffield and had alot of problems with cooling. I don't know the if the Leyland radiator is any bigger but the Nuffield radiator is way too small so the engine overheats and cracks the block between the middle cylinders. These engines had huge radiators in trucks and buses and these rads won't fit inside the front cowl on a tractor. Hope that helps your with your decision

Hi all. I have a 5.1 bmc engine I'd like to fit into a 344 leyland. Am I right this engine is only in about 90hp. I'd like more power from it if possible am thinking of a rebuild and turbo it has anyone done this and is it worth the money and time. I'd like to get 150hp from it if this is possible. Thanks
