Hi Rick, I'd hoped you would chime in at some point, but if you don't know then we're all doomed! I got the head off mine and the black shiny things appear to be a graphite / central steel shim construction. When I lifted the head off, the top layer of graphite parted from the gasket and was totally stuck to the head face, I had to scrape all of it off with a scraper and none of it came of easily. Similarly, the remains of the gasket then split when I lifted that off the block and again it left a completely stuck layer of graphite gasket on the block face. There's no evidence of water tracking ..read more

The spacers you refer to are shims which are available in different sizes to suit the particular liner/ engine block combination. Thus, there is no guarantee that the old ones will be correct when transferred. You will probably have to do some selective assembly work. Have a look in the workshop manual. There is one available on this forum. Regards Hi, I think the author is referring to spacers about 2mm thick to enable a later type liner to be fitted, not the regular 2,3,&5 thou shims. Hi, You can usually get a spanner to grip the body, or the cap nut and twist the injector left and right, once it is moving a prybar can be used under one of the wings to ease the injector upwards. Regards Rick Cobley Statistics: Posted by Rick Cobley — Mon Jun 10, 2024 11:19 pm ..read more

Just fill it slowly, as the filler cap is the highest point, the capacity is 2 1/2 gallons. If you have the fan belt loose give the water pump a few turns just to make sure, but it should sort itself if filled slowly anyway. Thanks for the link! When I had the top cover off I had the top part of the unloaded valve off after finding it was stuck but didn’t take the rest of it out. I’ll take it back apart and clean it up. I can feel decent pressure in the aux hose and can hear the tractor bog down slightly if I hold the lever without an attachment on.
