Not sure why, but I brought this home today. Roper GT18. Tractor Data says 1984-1988. Not sure what year since I haven’t found a breakdown on serial numbers yet. 2948s00012. GT18FR. 18 horse Briggs. horizontal twin. 6 speed transaxle. It’s got to have the biggesr grill of anything I’ve owned. This saw had become very hard to start over the last several years. When it sat for several days and was cold you would have to pull 15 to 20 times to get it to go. Once running it was fine for the rest of the day. I decided to put a kit in the carb and got a new air filter for it. Ran the carb through the new Sonic Cleaner and installed the new diaphragm and gaskets. The old diaphragm looked OK but was a little stiffer feeling than the new one. Today was the first car show of the year, and WAS a good day with some sun…. UNTIL about 1 o’clock when it started to sprinkle. It was held by the Connecticut Street Rod Association (or CSRA) at their clubhouse, who always put on a great show. Local 2014 2320 with a LA 304 loader & Curtis soft cab, which I would be reselling & building a custom one. I defiantly don't need one this size but it's at 700 hours & pretty good shape for $18,000 CAD (13,266 US) Like I said more of a want than a need but I'm debating getting rid of my 1655's & attachments & my LA165 with cab & blower. Hooked the 284 to our small roller and pulled it over to the water supply. Filled the roller up and made a few passes in the pasture where the cattle had pock marked the ground. It makes it smoother where there is still enough moisture in the ground. Where its to dry may need some light discing to knock the tops off ..read more
