BCS 749 steering brakes barely do anything?

Hey all, I got a new BCS 749 a couple years ago, immediately attached a BCS flail mower to it, and have been dealing with poor maneuverability ever since. The steering brakes are bad enough that I'd rather just manhandle it to turn -- even when I'm lifting the flail off the ground and fully squeezing one of the brakes it seems to only barely slow the connected tire. The differential lock is not engaged, I regularly use it for mowing straight lines over bumpy terrain and disengaging it on... Read more ..read more

How do y'all feel about Frigidaire vs. GE vs. Whirlpool

Korean brands are out, heard too much bad stuff. Leaning towards the mid level models of the three in the subject line for new Fridge, stove (gas) and dishwasher. Going to go with the same brand cause the wife wants black stainless and I think each manufact. has it's own take on black stainless. You see good and bad reviews for each. I guess it is all about picking the look and features you like and crossing your fingers you don't get a lemon. Any other advice before I roll the dice ..read more

Came across this by mistake, but found it more than interesting to watch the entire clip. Very informative if you're interested in this kind of stuff. Since my dad enlisted in the Air Force in 1952, I remember him always joking that if he we're older than he was and if during WW2, he had no doubt that being 5'2" and 130 lbs soaking wet, he knows for a fact this is what he would have been doing ..read more

Just put a repaired front end loader arm (leaking seal) back on tractor. Added hydraulic fluid to replace leak losses. New oil and oil filter. Level shows perfect on dip stick. Shred for one hour this morning and high temp light comes on. Stop engine and wait an hour. Went to replace fluid in radiator and it only needed about 16 oz of water. Screens are clean and fan is running. Started tractor and ran for 10 minutes. Overheating light on again. Anyone have any idea where to... Read more ..read more
