First off I’m not advertising a sale here, just after some wisdom. I have a Seiko 6106-8100 sport diver cleaned up and for sale for a while and since found the watch has some issues that have been pointed out to me. Hoping that someone here can offer expertise 1. The second hand does not appear to be original. The watch was in very bad shape but all 3 look the same age under the loupe and the hour and minute appear... Seiko sport diver history ..read more

Not the usual pin and collar rant.

Some time ago I acquired a King turtle, fully knowing that the bracelet was botched to within an inch of its life. Sourcing another bracelet wasn't a problem. The problem being that folks get the notion that they can master this system with no prior knowledge of said system and how finicky it can actually be. The pictures are both sides of one part of the botched article. The other sadly dropped to pieces. I've tried to salvage what I can, but it looks like some type of hard glue/cement... 50 Years of Seiko History

Does anyone else have Seikos which mark significant milestones in the company's history, or that are connected across the years in some notable way? I recently received my Alpinist GMT [SPB379] and noticed that this watch was built exactly fifty years after my other favorite Seiko, my quartz QT 38 built in 1974. I like that this represents the company's evolution over that half century, with the QT 38 representing Seiko's first full-production quartz movement, and the Alpinist representing... 50 Years of Seiko History ..read more

Hi everyone, New to vintage watches and hoping to purchase my first one soon. A bit nervous about buying a 'frankenwatch' or paying too much for something not worth the money. Was looking for opinions on this Seiko Silver Wave 6306 8000 that is being sold through FB marketplace. Price is $400 AUD. Not too fussed about a few scratches here and there but curious to know if it all looks legit and if condition is good enough that I'll avoid for repairs non-stop after purchasing. Thanks in... I own a 2019 mini turtle and a ‘90s 7002, so am looking for another flavour of Seiko diver. Given what I own, which offers something more unique — an SKX031 (40mm, sub style, chapter ring) or a 023 (37mm, sub style, no chapter ring)? I like both but have to choose ..read more

I picked this up a few months back, and just got running. Doesn't reset to zero, but at least it's running. I'm having a hard time installing a strap, there's virtually no room in the hooded lug area to fit a strap. I'd love to find an original bracelet, but if I can't, can anyone suggest a strap that'll fit these lugs? q ..read more

Searching for thread about Seiko parts - bracelet needed

I'm on the hunt for a bracelet for an SSB027 (P1?) chronograph, movement 6T63-00D0. As far as I can tell, it's a model that is neither especially popular nor notable, so parts aren't common and cross referencing with other cases is difficult. I have been scouring this site and cannot for the life of me find a thread I used a few weeks ago to find the OEM bracelet part number. I don't remember when the thread was posted, but I have a vague memory of a site, perhaps created by a user here... Searching for thread about Seiko parts - bracelet needed ..read more
