Hi everyone I received my 491 visa grant in December and shortly after my partner and I found out we were expecting a baby. The baby is due at the end of May and we don’t intend on moving over and activating our visa until October. How do we add the baby on to the visa, or do we need to apply for a new visa for the baby and does it need to have a medical done? Just wondering if anyone has been in this situation. I’ve tried to contact the department of home affairs but it’s near impossible to get a reply from them. thanks ..read more

Hi, first time posting here! Hoping for some advice please. My husband is an Electrical Engineer and is on the skills list and we would have 65 points. We want to move to Perth. The issue is he will be 45 in November this year so time is not on our side. Should we try and get the documents together and submit EOI before turning 45 anyway with hope WA invite us to apply or bypass and try to obtain a 482 by applying for jobs? Are there any other options for us? We have booked a call with a Migration Agent but wanted to gather our own information first. Many thanks for your help ..read more

Hi, I am starting to look for my options to work in Australia. I have been volunteering in India for a few years under a visa. I am 59 years old and hold a finance degree from Prague. I have experience in accountancy, administration, and teaching meditation. Additionally, I have an open college diploma Meditation teacher from the UK. Painting is what I do in India, and I am now exploring my options. I would appreciate any ideas. I have always been discouraged by my age, but I have started to explore the possibility of a Visa 482. I need any advice and your encouragement ..read more

Hi all, Any help appreciated as I’m going round in circles! Me and my family are all UK born but with NZ passports following a period living there. We have been wanting to move to Australia for a number of years but have resisted doing so due to the ill health of my mother. With her passing we are now seriously revisiting this but looking for options for my 83 year old father to join us. He is in good health and has no financial constraints. With the changes to NZ 444 visas we could gain citizenship within 4 years of entry - what visas would be available to him at that point with our help ..read more

Hi All! My partner and I are looking to apply for either an 189 or 491 visa (my sister is a citizen, living in Queensland). My sister is hoping to start a family soon and I want to live closer to her! We currently live in the UK, we got some advice from an immigration lawyer and they were not as helpful as expected. We both have doctorates in life sciences and biotechnology, however, we left that field to go into ICT business/software/systems analysis before we gained 1 year of experience in science (my partner got 11 months annoyingly, I have 0). Therefore, I understand that we would strugg ..read more
