My still photography has always been on Nikon, but now that I am into film I have been shooting with the Panasonic GH5S. I don’t have much experience with other cameras to compare, but I really like using the GH5S. It has a ton of features and long battery life. I’ve been shooting in V-Log, which has definitely been challenging, but I am getting a great image. I think what is important is to just be very comfortable with the gear you choose no matter the brand. Tell a great story and it really doesn’t matter the camera. Thanks for reading ..read more

If you are looking for great cinematography check out the limited series called Black Butterfly ( Les Papillons noirs). It’s one of those shows that inspires me to challenge my own work ..read more

Hi Kevin, I am looking forward to your webinar. I am watching the Game of Thrones series for the second time or maybe third. I was watching a bloody battle scene and I thought about you and wonder if you knew how they did some of those shots in the battle of the bastards. Particularly when they are shoulder to shoulder during the sequence being surrounded by the Bolton army ..read more

Hey Kim! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the cinematography in Game of Thrones. It’s great that you’ve become interested in the position of characters in the frame and the framing techniques used in the show. The placement of characters in the frame is essential for storytelling, and sometimes it’s intuitive, while other times it’s deliberate and planned. As for framing techniques like the two-thirds rule or frames within frames, cinematographers often have a set of guidelines, but it also depends on the specific scene and available resources. I think it would be great to have webinar spea ..read more
