Here is my 145.022 speedy. I love this watch and the history behind it, its a timeless piece that always looks great. I received this some time ago and It has a been serviced as it didn't ran more than a few minutes, has a refinished dial and replaced hands. Chronograph works but the hands do not align perfectly when reset. I wear it on a black leather racing strap and I think it looks great. I have the original(?) bracelet but missing one end link. From my research, I think this is an 1175... My speedy and help with identifying my bracelet ..read more

For those with multiple Omega watches, how often do you service them?

Hey all, Most of my watches are from Omega so I figure to post in here, but it can be applied to all mechanical watches. I have 9 watches in my collection currently and usually pick one to wear for the weekend. Due to my industry, I just wear the Apple watch when I'm working. Most of them are within 0-3 seconds/day. The only watch I've had to service ever was my first 'nice' watch, an IWC. Moisture somehow got inside and after owning it for 12 years, I didn't mind having them re-hauling... Dear WUS colleagues, I stumbled upon a watch and decided to add it to my small collection. It is the Omega Apollo XI 3592.50.00 with Hesalite and Sapphire sandwich. This particular piece is in full set with the red wax seal and rare box with meteorite. I would like to ask you for your opinion about the watch and that I have seen only once a watch with the same characteristics but with a smaller grey box (without the meteorite). 1. This was looks to be completely unopened and still with... Omega Apollo XI rare first edition 3592.50.00 ..read more

Okay, I'll be quick because I plan to put up my final SOTC post later tonight. It'has actually taken me a little longer than I thought it would, and I keep finding spelling errors all over my previous posts. Anyway, I started the week with the Explorer; Continuing the Rolex vibe on Hump Day with the Sub 5513; Yesterday was the ANZAC Day public holiday here in Australia. It felt like a Saturday or Sunday. Which... ***Friday April 26th, 2024 - WRUW ..read more

Am I the only one who thinks that 1610/930 bracelet is overrated?

I didn't had a chance to try it for a long time but recently acquired two Peter Blakes, one on factory bracelet which was short so I had to buy a link, the other one is on aftermarket melanise NTTD style bracelet. I also have Omega on 5/9 link 1st gen Bond bracelet and Tag circa 2008 on the bracelet. Bond stronger and more comfortable despite not tapered and slightly outdated. Tag's clasp is stamped but has very nice lock and links are tapered and comfortable. So among all of these, the... Am I the only one who thinks that 1610/930 bracelet is overrated ..read more

Omega 1869 rate question

I have a new-to-me watch with Omega 1869 (DSOTM). The watch was sold about one year ago, so it is relatively new. I was curious about it's timing performance, so I measured the rate in the dial-up position over a 36-hour period without winding it. I show the results of this experiment in this chart: Each blue dot is the measured rate at that time, and the blue line is +/- one standard deviation of the timing measurements at that time. I let the watch... Omega 1869 rate question ..read more

Recently serviced my worn everyday for 13,5 years Omega Seamaster 300 (movement 2500c). It never stopped even once in that time. Today i red something that sparkled additional questions. First citation: „This movement (2500C) had a stopping problem which is remedied at full service by fitting a new style intermediate escape wheel in the movement & specific epilame treatments (which Omega ran training courses on). Black sticky material built up on the intermediate escape... Omega 2500c movement "upgraded/improved" after service? gears question ..read more

Incoming - Long awaited White Dial Speedmaster

So Omega strategically relased a bomb of a beauty in the White dial Speedmaster of which will come to market rather fast and please most of the collectors (pound for pound a great differentiating piece). A white dial Speedy can not be the only Speedy within a collection but rather, it will complement nicely with other Speedy variations. The new white dial does wear a tad like my 39mm CK2998 (sits taller) and the profile is very much like a Daytona. I also bought the rubber moon strap on... Patina or no?

Noob here and not huge into the watch space, but I doubt I am blazing any hot topics with this question. Also, I get this question will be a, 'well it depends on your endgame.' Do watches hold more value with or without patina? My goal is to pass along watches to my family in time. Personally, I think scratches and scuffs add character. If my kids keep them and wear them, enjoy. If they decide to sell, by choice or by force, that's up to them. The question stems from a recent requirement to... Patina or no ..read more
