The marketing campaign didn't mention that it was based on a TV show, presumably knowing that it doesn't have much brand recognition nowadays. I guess the thinking was that pairing Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, both A-list stars, in a fun action comedy would be the draw. It does seem to have been well-received by audiences, though probably not well enough to get a word-of-mouth boost. I don’t know why they’d expect big Bo from a movies based on a tv show nobody in the last two generations has heard of. Ryan Gosling isn’t a huge draw, most of his movies a not big Bo , as I remember it. Acclaimed , but not huge earners. Barbie is the one biggest I think, but the brand delivered that. Latest Weekend: May 3-5 The Fall Guy$28.5M Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace 2024 Re-release $8.1M Challengers$7.6M Tarot$6.5M Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire$4.5M Fall guy I assume is a remake of the tv show It is, and apparently $28.5 million falls short of even the lowest projections. Studios are hoping it doesn't herald another disastrous summer at the box office. Sent from my SM-G986B using Tapatalk Statistics: Posted by Kristatos — Mon May 06, 2024 10:36 am ..read more

I think hollywoods covid policy along with closing theaters for so long changed the industry at a fundamental level. Imho they are scared of investing money, out side a few known brands will do well. Random low budget, normally horror films, can do we ..read more

Alex Apati at Ladbrokes told the Express that Cavill was looking good at 4/1: "Last month's news suggested Bond chiefs had found their man, but with things going quiet on the Aaron Taylor-Johnson front, we're not yet ruling out a former favourite getting the gig, in the shape of Henry Cavill." Unlike many stars who have been rather coy about any desire to take the coveted role, Cavill has never hidden his hope, previously saying: "I would love to play Bond, it would be very, very exciting." On Rotten Tomatoes, "Goldfinger" currently sits at a 99% critic score. That makes it the highest-rated James Bond movie on the website. The critical consensus reads: "'Goldfinger' is where James Bond as we know him comes into focus — it features one of 007's most famous lines ('A martini. Shaken, not stirred.') and a wide range of gadgets that would become the series' trademark." A quick look at the RT rankings reveals that 1963's "From Russia with Love" is a close second with a 97% critics score, followed by "Dr. No" with 95%. Followed by Casino Royale, Skyfall, Thunderball and NTTD. Fair e ..read more

It is also the all-time biggest WB Film in India and Cambodia and the first WB Film ever to cross the Rs.1 billion box office mark in India.
