We're back again, this time with a re-issue of the big one: rank the Bond films.
For those of you who haven't yet participated, the concept is easy enough: send your film ranking to me in a pm.
I will then award points to all the films based on all the rankings I have received.
For a 1st place a film will receive 10 points, for a 2nd or 3rd place it will receive 9 points, and so on. For a bottom finish a film will get only 1 point. In the end we will get one big Mi6 ranking, which I will reveal film per film, starting at the bottom.
Please let me know if you want to participate, I am aimin ..read more

My oldest just got a game where you are posed with two scenario's and have to choose which one you would rather do. Thought it might lend itself to a thread. I will pose the two and then everyone weigh's in with their answers and why they chose what they did. Sound simple enough?
Would you rather watch Roger playing it light in Moonraker, or delivering a more grounded performance in For Your Eyes Only?
Consider just Moore's performance and not the film as a whole! Which film do you prefer Roger's performance? (side note, will we ever see a future Bond actor play the character different ways ..read more

I am not sure if this type of thread exists or not. But I thought it would be fun to have different categories of "awards" now called the Bondie. (please some one come up with a catchier name:) ) I will post a category with nominees and you the esteemed community will pick your favourite and if the mood strikes why you picked the way you did.
I intend to have funny categories and some serious ones. If you have a category you would like to see featured suggest it and we shall make it happen. Remember there can only be one winner from the list provided. Some will be tough!

As many probably know, lobby cards have been around since 1913. In addition to movie posters, there came a need for photographic images to promote the movie. A set of four to eight photos were nicely placed beneath the movie poster at the entrance - or in the lobby - when moviegoers went to the cinema.
Lobby cards were actual photos shot during the production, Some were taken between takes, some weren't. This is an example of the latter
There is an interesting four-part piece written about the history of the Bond lobby cards here:

Would you rather a traditional briefing scene with M/Bond OR a briefing out on the fly in the field?

I've just discovered another Corgi 'Gold Ingot' model that collectors might be interested in. It is the winner’s prize from the British Airways 'Licensed to thrill’ promotion 2003, which featured in their in-flight 'Shopping the World' duty-free brochure.
The item is presently being sold at auction. See Vectis Specialist Diecast Auction - Wednesday 8 May 2024, Lot 20 or use this link: https://www.vectis.co.uk/d042-lot-992021-corgi-toys-james-bond-aston-martin-1/36th-scale-gold-plated-issue?el=992021&pn=1&pp=25&referer=search
After studying the photographs this item is not one of ..read more

After a few discussion in a few threads I sensed there would be some good dialogue about missed opportunities of the Bond films.
Maybe it was an actor who played a villain in a lesser movie. I am looking at Christopher Lee turning up in TMWTGG, he found himself in a lesser known Bond movie and for many is the highlight, imagine if he had starred in a movie that didn't have a rushed production. Or Christopher Walken, a wonderful actor who was cast as the main villain in a movie that doesn't crack the top ten in most lists.
Maybe it was a director who should have explored more about the script ..read more
