Panasonic tx40jx800b too slow

Is my TV faulty? Had it about 2 years and it’s been unbearably slow to perform any task since about 6 months in. From switching on it won’t respond to remote for at least 5 mins while it ‘warms up’. EPG is very slow to load and pretty much any task takes an age as if it has to struggle to think about it. I bought it as I’d read good things about it but I absolutely hate this tv now. Is there anything I can do to make it more responsive or is this it? Thanks ..read more

A mate had just purchased a second hand 65" vers of the above. I've been asked if I can help with setting up following a reset. I understand this isn't a top tier old but I suggested we can improve on standard settings. Can anyone kindly share settings to give me a start. One thing I noticed was Dolby vision IQ was very blue (cool). I'm looking for SDR/ HDR white balance, colour management settings etc. All "enhancements" are off. Appreciate any user settings which are an improvement from... Read more ..read more

Got a Panny VT65 and the upgrade itch. Do I scratch it?

Been reading around these parts and think I have a grip on some of what I need to consider here - would appreciate views on whether I'm missing anything though for this particular use case. So I've got a Panasonic VT65 plasma, 55". If it gets replaced, it will be a 55" OLED and the viewing distance is 14ft. None of that will change. The current picture seems great in the evening (when most of the watching happens) and is unwatchable in the daytime without the curtains closed. If I go for... Read more ..read more

Anomaly at top and bottom of gz950

Hell, I had a new panel fitted to my Panasonic gz950 2 years ago because of dead pixels in middle of the screen. I'm hoping I can get some advice here as to whether the problem I have is valid for repair/replacement. First of recently when viewing any content the bottom 3mm or so across the screen appear bright and indeed the close I get the more I can see a black line all the way across, however when I use a magnifying glass it seems to disappear and only shows up using the naked eye. My... Read more ..read more

Hoping this is the right forum to ask..... had a DMR-PWT550 for about 10 years before it died (main board) ....as per usual and despite it being a current model it was cheaper to buy a new one rather than get it repaired ..... but the new one has a problem in that if a program with the PG flag is recorded I can't play it without entering a PIN every time ..... Strangely though I can watch the program live with no problems. None of the channels have the child lock on I have factory reset... Read more ..read more

Hi, I am attempting to connect my Panasonic th42a400a viera TV to my speakers, and have failed so far. My approach is: Optical output -> Topping E30 DAC -> RCA cable -> stereo -> speakers. I have verified that I can produce sound from the speakers by connecting my laptop to the DAC via the USB port. However when I try via optical from the TV, I can't get it to work. No sound comes out from the speakers, and it continues to come out from the TV inbuilt speakers. I've never used an optical... Read more ..read more

Hi all, I have an old Bose Cinemate which I'm trying to connect to my tv. The Bose only has the RCA connectors but these don't seem to work when connected to the RCA audio connectors on the tv. The TV has optical and HDMI Arc outputs too. Should I be using an optical to RCA converter? Or an HDMI to RCA converter? Any advise much appreciated ..read more
