Hey all!
Longtime lurker on here for insights and inspiration. I’m Ryan Ehrenberg, the VFX Director at Wildlight Entertainment. We’re looking to add an experienced technically minded VFX artist to join up. We are a super small dept (hey it’s just me now!) so there’s plenty to help with while starting off a new IP.

I want the location where the particles are generated to have the same shape at all camera angles. Does anyone know how? I need help.
I would like to solve the issue where DETRMINISM seed generation is not pretty at different camera angles.

I’m doing my internship as a VFX artist for a race cart game, all the VFX will be project from beamers onto the physical world where players will be racing on. I would love to upload my VFX portfolio but im not sure about the shader complexity
I feel bad showing my work with the curve being slightly into the red, I mean once a Lead-VFX artist told me that a little into the red is fine and to keep in mind that the complexity view mode values haven’t changed since UDK so they are rather outdated, he mentioned something about increasing the shader complexity values x4 ? when things are a bit white-ish, he mentioned changing the .ini so I guess coding stuff which I haven’t looked much into, maybe there is a script for it to paste into the Unreal Engine c ..read more

Hi there,
I’m a game design student and the main engine I use is Unreal Engine. I’ve always looked for a branch of games which creates a nice mixture of artistic and technical skills soo… I started learning VFX. However my initial role and what I have been studying is technical design. In order for me to transition to VFX I have to learn as much as possible about it and defend a deliverable by the end of the year.

Hi there! I’m new to this forum and a beginner in studying vfx in UE (at the moment I’m studying on Udemy, Idk if I can put the course or creator’s name).
I’s so sorry to begin with a request for help, but I have to overcome this issue asap.
So, that’s the problem: I was creating a portal VFX, when creating a new emitter in my Niagara System, no particles were spawned.
I tried disabling one emitter (the one with most spawn rate) and the new emitter begins to work.
So, I checked my vram usage, and it was 4,8 out of 6 GB (I have a gtx1660).
The question is: can I resolve without changing my gpu ..read more
