I have a baitcasting reel that has nylon gears. Had them replaced years ago as they dried out and the teeth broke off. Now afraid the parts supply had dried up. My grandson has a 3D printer but not sure of what material he uses. Would 3D printed small parts be durable to get the reel back in service? TIA ..read more

I've never been a fan of applying CA finishes so I figured I would give GluBoost a try, I ordered the starter set from Exotic Blanks last night. I was just curious though for those of you that use it, is this purely a finish or is it a CA glue as well. This is the first Atracia I have made, in gunmetal with chrome accents. It's a nice kit, and I like that the clip has a little different style. My only complaint would be that the clip ring is narrow and it makes the cap look like the finial is not pressed completely in. This is another blank from Axe and Iron on Etsy and the chatoyancy is... just wow. I think it was throwing off the focus a bit. Each side looks a little different, almost not like the same pen. I've been turning mostly rollerball/ballpoint kits for a while, but lately I've been getting into making fountain pens. One of the things I like about the Jr. series kits from Exotic Blanks (Gentlemen, Harold, Milton, etc.) is that they can be very easily converted into fountain pens with the purchase of a small kit.
