Hey All I've got a few questions about install led projectors in my car. I've got a '13 BMW X1 that i will be retrofitting NHK gen V bi-leds into the stock valeo housings The issue I know I'm going to run into is how I would power the NHK projectors. Attached is a picture of the housings. The red arrow is where I think the power is coming from since thats where the D1S igniter is coming from. Should I tap into the 2 black wires or should I tap into the igniter for power? Also as a side note, if i have demon eyes running all the time by tapping into my angel eye wires (blue arrow), would I ha ..read more

My 9W LED T-light got damaged. I opened and saw that one smd was fused. I shorted it and it was glowing nicely. Next day another fused. I shorted and very next day, another got fused. I checked the voltage. It was 140v from driver and 3.2v across per led. Also current across the smd was less than 350mA. What's wrong ..read more

A project with 2 LED lights and a 9V battery

I am working on a project with 2 LED lights and a 9V battery. I am using some 4 pin 3 color LED's that the red is 2V and the Blue and Green are both 3.0V each, all at 20MA. I am hooking up 2 of them in parallel, and I would need a 350ohm resistor for the rest and 300 ohm resistor for the blue and green ones. The kit came with 430 ohm and 470 ohm resistors. Both lights light up perfectly with either of the resistors. Do you see a problem with using either of those resistors, or am I missing something that the lights are working? I was going to use a communal resistor to keeps part space to a mi ..read more

Hello, everyone! I am trying to get a standard linking led program running on my STM8S103F3P6 development board but I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I connected a LED to PIN D3, this is my code: #include <stm8s. h> void delay_ ms (uint16. _t ms) ; void delay_ _ms(uint16 _t ms) { while (ms- -) { uint16_ t i; for (i = 0:i< ms; i++){ nop () ; } } } main() { GPI0D- >DDR |=0x03; //PD3 as Output GPI0D- >CR1 |=0x03: //PD3 as Push Pull while GPI0D- >0DR|=(1<<3) : //turn PD3 on de1ay_ ms (1000): GPI0D->0DR&=' ~ (1<<3) ; //turn PD3 off delay_ ms (1000 ..read more

What would happen

What would happen if you paired an LED that was receiving the exact amount of voltage it needed for the correct current flow with a resistor? Vt - Vf = 0 volts, and 0 divided by anything is 0, but the resistor couldn't possibly not resist anything right ..read more

Toyota t100 help and info

Hello all, new to the forums I've been looking into converting my 1997 Toyota T100 to projectors for some time. I currently have Lasfit LED bulbs. While yes my truck has reflector housings, I aimed them as to not blind drivers. Being aimed that way, it really points my lights to the right and down to the ground to much for my liking as well as still having a tiny bit of glare upwards and to the side, but not enough to blind people. My truck has fluted lenses rather than clear. There is only ever been 1 person on the T100 forums that has ever done a full HID retrofit kit, which involved cuttin ..read more

this was a few months ago, but was a good excuse to break out the equipment. one of my license plate lights went out. at first, i was just going to replace it with a filament replacement because any bulb out bothers me. but instead i used it as an excuse for a 3-week project... i could have bought any number of 'led plate light' kits available literally anywhere. but they're 6000k, and many have less reliability testing than plastic bags. i can't stand 6000k lights, and don't really like the idea of saving money only to end up spending more later on replacements for the replacements. so t ..read more

I’ve been lurking here for a couple of years. Great place with lots of knowledge! I’m now on my third retrofit. All for the same bike: an ancient Aprilia Falco. First retrofit was a mini H1 and not much else. Second was a squashing a 4 TLR in a tiny space and two halos. The third project is replacing the halogen reflector with a carbon fiber backing plate. Of course, no bolts and brackets will be visible. Pics below show the aluminium prototype. First option was a D2S 5.0 and two Morimoto mini high beams. However, my charging system can barely keep up when I have all the headlight farkles on ..read more

life gets in the way as it does. anyways, new truck, new project. i intend to keep this one a while, so it's slowly getting the full treatment. digging out all the old tools, and remembering where i left off... playing more with high power setups, as the thermal requirements intrigue me as an extra layer of voodoo. main goal? bright, less MESO, more OEM in appearance. started off with some thin 'scissor cut' double-sided FR4 from goldmine electronics, planned to use the double side function, positive on one side, negative on the other, first time attempting 'vias' between sides. initi ..read more

Ford Edge turn signal PWM

Hello all, I have a 2018 Ford Edge with the single element 7440 for the turn signal / parking light. The vehicle uses "pulse width modulation" to reduce the voltage by 50% for the parking light or positioning light as Ford calls it. I tried using the 7440 GTR LIGHTING CARBIDE 2.0 Amber light but I get some serious flickering when the parking lights are on. The light performs as expected when just the turn signal is used. Is there an LED bulb on the market that can work with PWM or a decoder / resistor that will fix this issue ..read more
