Here is the most basic question possible for a classic Mini. How do you get 10" tires mounted and balanced? It has been 24 years since I had to do this to my Mini, and I had to mount the tires by hand and balance them myself. My results were not spectacular. Hi all new to this site so a big hello to all. Iv a classic mini 1000 city e 1989 Iv just purchased a 1989 mg metro 1275 turbo engine worh gear box ect. I was trying to freshen up the engine but cant find a set of rings for the 21268 1 pistons so after lots of thinking iv bought a 1380 bored out block. So now im trying to find out what it is ill need to run it turbo ie what 1380 pisons do i need can i use the crankshaft and con rods from my 1275 the engine. My late grandfather was a massive hoarder of old car memorabilia.. when he passed away he gifted me hundreds of old car log books, ranging from 1920s Austin’s, Crossley, Essex etc right up to the newer 1970/80s Minis Fords and so on. Hello I've just purchased a 1993 British open mini. This was brought into the US about 12 years ago. It's had the needed rust repair done over the years but is sound now. Recently it had the rear trailering arm/Axle replaced as it had been patched and was crusty. It's had floor pans and fenders replace but other than that is sound. The injection has been removed (sadly) but it runs well with a carb on it. At present it has a serious oil leak at the outback flange and is the reason I bought it as the last owner did not want to deal with it. I have a 1995 rover mini spi that was given to me on condition that i will try and get it back on the road.The car has been off the road since it had a front accident 17years ago. Her late husband started to repair it then stopped for some reason. Anyway i have been looking at it and the single plug ecu is missing, and i would like to get it running before i do anything else to ie bodywork. this car also as a single plug 3lb immobiliser and not the 5as twin plug immobiliser. so my question is will a coded ecu work or do i need a uncoded ecu.has far as i know ..read more
