Greetings. I have a 2006 R53 JCW and am having problems with the fuel system. I replaced the filter and pump. Car starts but is fuel starved after a minute or so. I came across a reference to a fuel siphon jet that is part of the return line to the pump. Does anyone know how or what it does ..read more

I know there is nothing more than a "noise" thread and I tried looking around for my exact sound but didn't see anything.
2012 Countryman S, 67k miles. We bought it pre owned at 50k from a old guy that drove it slow and chill, immaculate condition when we got it for our daughter in 2022.
I wanna say this noise is within the last year, but, no mechanicals, no warning lights (except the 2c57 code we have because the Turbo is going bad according to the dealer)....I notice the noise being worst when its cold, it happens only when accelerating from when the pedal is NOT engaged, meaning if im driv ..read more

Had these codes pop up within the first 2 weeks from winter storage. I pulled/replaced the bypass valve and it made no difference. So today I pulled the DP to put my vacuum tester on it and it appears to be closing fully by 10 inhg and it will hold 15 for a few minutes and not drop off. I'm guessing it's either the boost solenoid or a hole in a vacuum line leading to it? I just tested the vacuum pump and it's pulled around 27in of vacuum. I will say it wasn't happy running with everything unhooked but I wanted to check it.
here is a video of the wastegate working on my vacuum pump.

Hello Forum,
Looking for a 2005-2006 Mini Cooper S or JCW. Regrettably, sold my 2006 a couple years ago and want back in. Looking for a low mileage, well documented car in very clean condition.
Thank you,
Tim

Hi everyone, My '05 S (143k on clock) has leaking front & rear crank main seals leaking. Power is good. What are my options in getting this fixed versus just getting another engine, as costs to pull the engine and do the repairs can be quite expensive. The head and supercharger have not been replaced and are still working fine, so this might not enter into the equation. If I was younger (now 71) I would do the repair myself, but bad knees and too many projects are in the way. This is a US spec'd car.
THX for your help.

I've read about this fault and think I understand how the "squid" wire with the yellow end at the positive battery terminal is supposed to work.
If I remove the black plastic cover of the red positive terminal can I remove the squid wire from the positive terminal to inspect it?
Does it have a two-conductor connection? If I rotate the yellow connector as seen in the accompanying video, does that offer any insight?
I have read where I could install a 5-watt 3.3-ohm resistor across the ends of the squid wire in place of whatever the wire is supposed to be connected to in the red positive connec ..read more

Looking for some help from anyone that might have the ECS tow hook setup.
This shoulder bolt is out of stock, est. to ship in June, and I am wanting to use this in a track day in a couple weeks. I have all the other pieces. I don't have any hardware that matches in my garage and the hardware stores near me are always light on metric options. If I can find the right specs I am hoping to grab something that will suffice from McMaster Carr or the likes online. I sat on hold for a while with ECS and I figured I might have better luck here.
I am pretty confident it is an M10 bolt. An M10 with 1.5 ..read more

Hi,
I made the common and foolish mistake of removing my driver seat without disconnecting the battery first. As expected, there is now an SRS warning light. Last time I did this, the dealer wanted $99 and local mech wanted $29 to clear. I also just got a new battery and looking to register it with the car.
Is there any cheap Scanner than would allow me to tackle these tasks (clearing SRS code and registering battery)??
(note: I've researched for hours online and some people seem to say Creator c310+ worked for their more modern BMW's, anybody know ..read more
