I have one very angry, very gravid female hognose right now, currently in her pre-lay shed! The timer has begun, place your bets on how long she'll keep these eggs cooking before she lets me have them! In the past we've had a range from one week after shedding, all the way to three weeks after shedding. So place your bets, I'll update once she sheds, and then again when she drops her eggs! Since the last 6 months have brought big changes to my life, and I had to downsize a lot, I figured I'd do an update on the snakes I do have, some of which haven't been shown on here as I was inactive when I got/hatched them, for anyone who is interested in the scaled critters. Not all photos were taken on the same day, etc.. Corn Snakes. Anyone who kept up with me before I vanished will remember I had a LOT of corn snakes, as I used to breed them. Currently, I no longer breed them... Updates on my scaley lot ..read more

Hey guys, really need some advice. I have a ball python and he has a ceramic heat bulb in his vivarium. He's got microclimate thermostat to control the temperature which is set to 32 but, the temperature doesn't always stay at that level and once it does, the thermostat doesn't pulse the heat as it should. Could this be a fuse issue in the microclimate thermostat device ..read more

Hey everyone! I had a quick question, and couldn't find the answer anywhere... Kingsnakes are now being banned in the EU. I was planning on moving to Ireland and bringing my black milk snake with me. ...Would this ban technically also include milk snakes, since they're also kingsnakes? I couldn't find anything on it. Thanks for any answers ..read more

My rat snake does this low/quiet hissing sound but he only seems to do it when he’s out of his enclosure or being handled I don’t hear him do it when he’s in his enclosure I feel like he may have an RI but I’m not sure as he’s eating well there’s no mucus or discharge and I can’t see excess saliva ..read more

My son has had a corn snake for about 3 years now, (I'm just the maintenance man!!), and it seems like all the viv equipment is failing at the same time.... The viv was a package from our local reptile store, 36x15x15inch viv, with red heat lamp, thermostat and 30 inch flourescent tube (which has also just started flickering badly! I've ordered an LED light strip to replace it) A few days ago the heat lamp bulb (IR type) stopped working. I went to take the bulb out and the glass came... Blown thermostat ..read more

Hey all. Just a quick query. This is my banana het clown ball python. When I got my snake I was told that it was 4-5 months when it arrived at the shop so after having it a few months I was expecting it to be 8-9 months old until I found out from the breeder themselves that my snake actually hatched on the 21st of July so has only just reached 5 months old. I’m now wondering whether they have told me the correct gender as they have informed me he’s apparently a male. However considering how... Snakes gender ..read more
