I want to first say thank you to those who have responded to my first post about my first build. I have learned a lot and taken feedback from other sites as well and came up with a revised list that I would like a second opinion on. I learned a lot between those times and I learned what to properly look for in parts. For those who are curious, here is the first post of my computer.
The long and short of the first post is that I would like to keep this computer for about 8-10 years. Which when given the opportunity would like to upgrade the RAM, Storage, GPU, and etc. My use cases are mostly p ..read more

Out of the blue my whole computer monitor screen goes black then says no signal. Why? What could be the issue?
It can happen at any time.
Demanding and not demanding times.
Also my fans go really fast or spin really fast after the screen goes black and says no signal
I do you a pcie riser cable / extender for my gpu. Did read those can cause issues but never had it happen previously when using it ..read more

I'm replacing my 128GB SSD C: drive with a 240GB SSD. I've created a disk image on an HD. My goal is to restore my current Win11 system and dual boot with Linux. I'm not clear on how to do this. Once I remove my current C: drive I no longer have an OS so how do I go about resoring W11? Thanks ..read more

I have recently finished doing an i7 build back in December and its been one of the greatest computers I have ever had. I pretty much went a little over board with it and I wont have to upgrade for a few years. The specs are the following.
Core i7 920
Asus Rampage II Extreme
6 Gigs of Corsair Dominator Memory
300 Gig Velociraptor 10,000 RPM Drive - OS
4 - 750 Gig Drives in Raid 5 on 3ware 9560 PCIe RAID Card
nVidia 9800gt 1gb
I want to use the following computer to watch my movies on my T.V. I figure I would have to add more storage but that's fine with me because HD's are getting cheaper. I ..read more

Hello, I'm excited to finally be a part of the PC Master Race and I have finally constructed what I think will be my first PC build! For my budget, I'm hoping to keep it under $1,000, but I may or may not be willing to go to $1,050. I will primarily be using this Rig for gaming, and my Cybersecurity Engineering career. This will be done on a 1440p monitor as well. I want/play games like Spiderman, God of War Ragnarok, Helldivers 2, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, Batman Arkham Trilogy, Forza Horizon 5, NFS Hot Pursuit, NFS Heat, COD Warzone, Fortnite, and OverWatch, just to ..read more

I am beginning the process of figuring out the components for my build I decided that it was best to start by asking myself what things I would/might use this new PC for that would use the most resources(?) are and then determine what the min specs are for those programs and then determine what components met that min and bump them up 1 or 2 gens. I understand that going with components that meet the min specs is not a good plan as they will become insufficient as soon as the next new gen comes out hence why I figured bumping up 1 or 2 gens makes sense.
For me the programs I will or may use i ..read more
