Spray collars

Has anybody had any experience with a spray collar for their dog, it’s a collar with a remote control with 3 modes, beep, spray of citronella, double spray of citronella. I have had to resort to a muzzle for my 6 year old lab, she has been eating other dogs poo (not her own) since she was 6 months old, and if she’s off the lead that is all she wants to do. Obviously it makes her ill and we’ve had to take up carpets, throw away rugs etc. or dose anyone have any ideas to make her stop doing... Spray collars ..read more

Hi I am new to this forum (hello everyone), and I am after some advice / tips please. My 7-year-old female Chocolate Labrador has unfortunately ruptured her cruciate ligament and is due to have a Tibial Plateau Levelling Osteotomy (TPLO) operation done at the end of the month. We have some guidance sheets on post operation and what needs to be done which is fine but having a bouncy chocolate labrador who loves people and runs to the front door (not now though) when someone knocks is... Hello, I have a 10 month old lab I’m currently training he’s an absolute machine on land and is smart as can be. But when it comes to water training it different. Once the bumpers are thrown and I cut him loose he sort of runs the bank back and forth each direction it seems like he’s shorting the distance up each time we train on water. I’ve shortened up the distance to boost his confidence when throwing the bumper but I never had a lab do this they all just sort of plowed the water or... Our new boy who is 12 months old, he isn’t very good on the lead. Refuses to walk on the lead from our house down to the park. If we take him in the car a walk he’s great full of beans and walks well. If we attempt to walk him from our house to the park he stops, sits down or lies down. A 10 mins walk to the park can talk up to hour. Any advice ..read more

Hi there, First time dog parents here learning how to raise a chocolate boy. We got Lex when he was 12 weeks old and he is now just over 5 months old. We do crate training and he’s pretty good with that most of the time—when he’s tired enough he’ll sleep for a good 2 hours and at night he goes from 10pm ish to 7am ish without issues. When he’s out of the crate he needs loads of attention and can easily get bored, but I suspect this is to an extent normal especially given the time he spends... Reactive 5 month old boy ..read more

Ear polyps

Hi everyone. We had to take Ramsay to the vets yesterday and found out he has polyps in his ears along with an ear infection. They don’t know if the ear infection has caused the polyps or the other way round so he’s had some gel put in his ears for the ear infection to combat that first. We’ve got to wait 3 weeks for that to work and then go back if the polyps are still there he’s got to have a operation to remove them. Just wondered if any of you have dealt with polyps in your lab before... Ear polyps ..read more
