Hello again ‘Dubbers’, I see that the TW has achieved cult status in the US and Canada for some time now, almost unchanged since 1987 and still on showroom floors! I wonder how many of you are aware this motorcycle achieved huge cult status in Japan following this extremely popular TV drama staring a young actor, KimuTaku (Kimura Takura). "A beaufitul life" aired in 2000 to a TV rating of 41.3%, he is a hair stylist (Shuji Okishima) and rides a road custom version with a pale blue tank... TW200 TW225 cult status ..read more

Spare Gas Container DIY.

This weekend’s project was adding a spare gas container to the TW. It ended up being very easy after walking the isles of the local tractor supply for a while. The pictures will do most of the explaining, but I’ll write the steps out first. Here goes! 1. Buy gas container and 3.5” rain cap. (Make sure it fits at the store. There were two types marked as 3.5” and only one was a good fit.) 2. Disassemble rain cap from the collar. 3. Drill 1/4 hole and trim the mounting tab. 4. Cut off... I asked this question on the performance forum with one response and am thinking this may be the place to ask again. I installed this digital tachometer/ voltmeter on my 89 T-dub (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08NSZDD3W?ref_=pe_386300_442618370_TE_sc_as_ri_0) It has three leads and no wiring instructions. I connected the red lead to the horn positive wire, the black lead to the coil mounting bolt with a ring connector, and the green lead to the orange wire going to the coil... Hey folks hope you can point me towards a solution for my electrical problem. Went for a ride yesterday, and on the way home, bike wouldn't start. Have a single click, then the neutral indicator, and operating lights went out(after click) I bump started and rode it home no problem. Checked the battery when I got home and figure it was maybe too old, but it had 11v. When fussing w the battery, the dash would light back up again, then cut out with a click.it would intermittently click... good battery, no lights or start ..read more

Hello everyone, I just joined up as I really enjoy reading the posts and following all the fun people have with this fantastic machine. I can probably search through a few more posts, however was wondering what people have done to make ‘bullet proof’ turn signals for off roading. I have seen the ones with the headphone jack that you can unplug (they are not so budget friendly) and the small LED one’s and small incandescent one’s but was wondering if someone made something on a rubber... Bought a '98 a couple of weeks ago. Found it on Craigs-List, using searchtempest.com. Good deal all around, had to drive 340 miles for it (worth every minute). It fit into my Honda Element, that's right - inside. Love it, the weather hasn't been the best yet, so I only have 200+ miles on it. Photo with the 5 yr old, he says it will be his when he's older. Probably. Only thing I plan is making a rear rack and riding it. ... Got mine ..read more
