Hello, I'm new to Sony digital cameras and was going to purchase a used a7R. Having owned both Canon and Nikon, I wanted to give Sony a try. While doing a search on Ebay, I noticed the shutter release button was on top of the camera body on some of the a7R's and on top of the hand grip on others. The difference mainly being having an extra 'C' button. Is that the newer model? It seems like the handgrip location would be the way to go. Hello everyone ? My Sony a7m3 just broke with no power at all and no charging. I searched a lot on the internet but nothing came out. No answer and no resolve. So because I kinda handle electronic staff, I opened it up and found one 5Amps fuse burned. Changed it of course but same result... it broke a again... I searched on the internet for schematic or datatsheet of the SY-1086 board but nothing just another second hand board for replacement. New Sony user here, trying to get my head around all of the differences from Fuji ? I’ve figured out most of the settings, but can’t find any answers on how to do a custom white balance for studio flash. The custom setting option only seems to be based on measuring ambient light. The only workaround I can think of is to set an approximate kelvin value and then shoot a grey card and fix it in post, but I’d much prefer to get it right in camera. camera is an A7CR TIA Vinnie ..read more

Advice needed on best use/settings - on full zoom using 200-600mm to capture a single, static bird at distance, the center focus area seems too large and will frequently focus on a point around or behind the bird such as branches or reeds etc. leaving the bird unclear. Hello: I’m shooting XAVCS 4K, S-Log3 on my A7RV with success. In post, I have been applying a standard Sony LUT supplied with the latest version of RESOLVE for the Mac which for my needs IS a great starting point for my grade of a clip. Because I don’t need (for now), another style of LUT, is there ANY WAY to bake the LUT’s characteristics into my Sony clips during shooting? That would save me a lot of time in Resolve, not having to add a “LUT Node” in the color area.
