Oh, it's great to see users of Olympus cameras grouped together! See I'm new to this group and wanted to introduce myself a bit. As a young guy, the OM-1 film camera was my first new camera and what a sweet thing that was! Now moving into the digital days there wasn't much that sparked my....that is until the E-1. Gosh, did the spec's intrigue me, but I was pushed off due to the price then. Some three or four latter I found an eBay listing for ten E-1's with a great "Buy It Now" price! (To... G'day all Is there anyone here who uses / knows of someone else who uses / the Oly 12 ~ 200mm zoom lens?? I have the Panny 14-140 F3,5 and am not all that pleased with it ... it is less sharp than my partners older 14-140 F4 version. I have a half-baked idea of trading the 14-140 and getting the 12-200 ... maybe Phil ..read more

Hi, I just bought an Olympus Om-4 and I’m new to the auto exposure/metering feature for film cameras. Do I need to press down the depth of field button on the lens to get the proper light meter reading or will it do it automatically? Confused because light meter level in viewfinder doesn’t change when I adjust the aperture unless I hold down the depth of field button. Thanks ..read more

Hello everyone. I am new to the Photo Forum. I am just getting into film photography with an Olympus OM-1n camera (vintage 1970's). I have a 50mm and 35mm lens. I have developed one roll of film and see that I may have potential with this camera and the 35mm lens. I have been shooting digital for the last ten years and doing well; I understand photography, exposure triangle, etc. Now I am just looking for a challenge. My question is, I want to do a long exposure in black and white with... Read more ..read more

Hi, I have a new OM-1 camera but also have two lenses from an Olympus I purchased 12 years ago. I have a 18-180mm lens and a 40-150mm lens. Firstly I want to know which of these would complement my 100-400 mm zoom lens. I mostly take photos of birds. Secondly I need to know which converter to buy. I understand the Olympus ones are ridiculously priced so looking to get an unbranded one. TIA ..read more

Stripped Battery Cover on Olympus AZ-1 Zoom

Hi all, I recently acquired this old AZ-1 Zoom and the only trouble it's giving me (so far) is the previous owners have completely chewed up the slot on the battery door. It's the kind where you push down the tab with a coin and slide the door open. Is there anything I can do to either replace this stubborn mechanism or repair it in some way? I can get it to work with a lot of force and a screw driver to push the tab down, but if I can make it run a little smoother for when I'm out and... Read more ..read more

Hello! I recently got a used olympus mju-1 and the close ups all turned out very nicely, however all of the landscape ones I took turned out blurry. I really don't know what could be the problem since you can't change anything on the camera except flash (mine was always turned off). I used a Kodak 200 iso film btw. Would really appreciate any help ..read more
