I have a 93 tbi motor I want to swap the heads and intake to vortec and I want to keep the tbi. I also want to install a towing cam. I need to know exactly what to do and what is required to do this.
Will be running 4:56 gears with Trans built for towing. 6" lift and 35x12.50
Was told this will help with flow, mpg and power.
I don't even know where to start. Is there a way to bolt everything right up buying a new intake? Will I need a chip?
I want to keep everything as close to factory...

Hey guys, I'm looking for some help. My wife's Tahoe (2011 5.3 4wd Z71) started making front end noise / clunking and i narrowed it down to the output bearing on the front diff, drivers side (axle had a ton of play and fluid was leaking). I've got it torn apart and the axle & seal removed and my question is what next? Take a look at the picture:
I saw some videos on 99-06 you can just pull the bearing with a puller and install a new bearing and seal...

So I've been wanting a nice tow pig to take my bagged truck to shows and tow friends racecars/driftcars around and such and a deal came up on this truck through a friend of a friend. It's a 2013 ltz, (no sunroof). Got it with 88k miles and it was already tuned and deleted, it is a northeast truck so there is rust on the bed but the rockers are holding up fine for now I guess. When I bought it was leveled on 33s that rubbed so first thing I did was lower it back down and put a john c. shackle...

Hi everyone, i’ve hit a road block with putting subs in my truck and would appreciate some insight. i have a 2005 gmc sierra 1500 ext cab and was set on putting 2 front firing 12s underneath the rear seat but seen as they are hard to find i was going to make my own box. i got to measuring and quickly realized that i don’t have the room underneath the seat but have seen pictures of people with these sub boxes in. what would i need to do to make them fit? or should i go a different route with...

I replaced the fuel pump in December and was using it normally yesterday and today it won't start.
It has spark in the sparks, and you can hear the fuel pump activating.
I am going to do a fuel pressure test soon.
What else do you recommend to check?
thanks in advance ..read more

Good morning all. I am looking forward to learning from the collective knowledge here. I have always tried to perform most routine maintenance and simple repairs my self. I define basic and simple relative to 80's and earlier where my 5 senses are my primary diagnostic tools and computers are not part of the equation. Shooting wires is no big deal, basic troubleshooting to me, but the integrated systems on modern vehicles are just a bit over the top in my opinion and I take more complicated...
