This isn’t a self build but a developer build. I’m in need of advice please. I'm building a new timber frame home. Walls will be osb on the outside so will need fishing with vapour barrier, battens, render boards, render. I'm considering installing the render boards myself (with help from family/friends). A local company that has also quoted for the render has advised against this so I'm wondering if this is something that's beyond the diy job or not? I realise boards will be heavy but from what I can tell installation isn't too difficult. I'm pretty happy researching and trying my hand at most things. Hi  Likely to build a small two bed in Exmouth Devon later this year . We are only 10 minutes walk to the beach ( yes I know lucky us)  my question is which Render to use . The front of the house is north facing and we will be constructing a MBC timber frame .  is K- render the way to go? What about the cork render ? Hi,   Hoping someone can help us out here with some advice/expertise!   We are at such a loss of what needs to be done to fix this problem, we've been told by some people that we need to remove the beads and replace them and then replaster over and paint the whole house and some have told us the whole house needs the render removed and restarted (obviously very expensive!).    Our house is about eight years old (small developer, no NHBC certificate, just an architects certificate that doesn't help us) but we have significant damage to the render. Hi, As part of a rebuild, I plan to install Knauf external insulation and then to render part and cedar clad part.   Does anyone have any experience / tips on   fitting the Knauf insulation - esp on dealing with the window reveals etc? rendering over the Knauf insulation? type of render best to use?   Also interested in identifying suppliers for good quality cedar cladding if anyone has any experience in this area?   Really grateful for any helo and advice!
