IMO, CVT or manual makes little difference when it comes to an 12-year-old car like Kizashi there are a lot of parameters that can go wrong and change fuel consumption but when it comes to comfort nothing beats AT like CVT I love it, especially in heavy traffic. In an older car, I agree. The difference is not that much but the newer models are really gapping manuals as they have more advanced CVTs and automatics. As for traffic, yes, manuals can be detrimental and annoying but I find manuals actually smoother, especially when stopped because they don't have torque converters that create that ..read more

Keep in mind the DRLs were only on US and Canadian models. It's not a global feature for the Kizashi. They also only work when the car is on and the handbrake is down when the headlights are off. Like Woodie stated, they use the high beam bulbs on reduced power through Pulsed Width Modulation. This is an unstable current that pulses power so the filament of the halogen bulb remains low output. The problem is that this causes flickering in LED bulbs that cannot accommodate a PWM current. The solution is installing capacitors that stabilize the current so the DRLs function properly but closer to ..read more

I agree that it's likely a bot but the reality is that this forum needs more activity so it's worth the response/discussion. As for what you wrote, I would say that manuals are more likely to consistently hit the EPA estimates. My manual Kizashi has delivered expected fuel economy consistently for 130,000 miles. As for CVTs and autos, they can vary more but in my experience, they deliver higher fuel economy than their direct manual counterparts. Like the Crosstrek exemplifies, it's getting to a point that manuals no longer make sense in terms of cost-savings, unless it's initial vehicle price ..read more

The DRLs are the high beams on reduced power. Nothing else. If your high beams work then the problem is not the bulbs. Statistics: Posted by Woodie — Tue Apr 23, 2024 12:28 pm ..read more

I apologize for digging up this topic, however in my kizashi (bought 2 months ago), i have no light ON when engine is ON, is the H7 for DRL for all models? In my experience when DRL is On, there are some tail lights that illuminates too (in the Mini F55 of my wife for example) Does that mean i need to change the two H7 bulbs? Did anyone try LED H7 like Philips ones? Thanks ! Statistics: Posted by Rushtard — Tue Apr 23, 2024 9:35 am ..read more

transmissions often offer better fuel economy compared to automatic counterparts due to their mechanical simplicity and direct driver control over gear selection. By actively engaging gears, drivers can optimize engine performance, enhancing efficiency. This makes manuals a preferred choice for fuel-conscious drivers seeking economical driving experiences. The sunroof and hood deflector were made in Australia and I've even seen clear ones sold there as OE accessories. If you are very keen on getting them for the Kizashi, I suggest you search and buy them from Australia. Statistics: Posted by KuroNekko — Wed Apr 17, 2024 5:17 pm ..read more

Even with the part number, you cannot order these any longer. It seems they were these were made out of unobtainium. I do have a used sunroof deflector that is attached with just the two-sided tape. I would part with this for $20 plus shipping. If you’re interested, Let me know, and I’ll take a picture of it after I find it.
