I work at a school bus company and our fleet is 2013 - 2014 express vans. This is the second bus that has burned out the fuseblock terminal for bank 1 injectors/coils (fuse 65) causing p0201, p0203, p0205 and p0207. The terminal is basically desoldered but contacts enough to send power but not operate the injectors/coils of bank 1. Ive load tested, checked for shorts and tested components but have not found a cause of issue. Anyone know of this issue or how to prevent it ..read more

I drive about 230-250 km trip bout once a week. In my area in the winter the temperature often goes down to -5 to -10 Celcius. I drive about 120km then car sits outside for a couple of hours before I make the return trip of 120km. I am considering a 2017 bolt which had battery replaced under warranty. In practicality, will this vehicle be able to do the round trip for me. What is the range that most owners are actually getting ..read more

Hello All, I need some help with my trusty 1997 Buick LeSabre. It has around 257,000 miles and decided to start stumbling above about a quarter throttle. It will go along just fine below ~quarter throttle. As I ask more of it the problem gets worse, up to about 3/4 throttle where it will cut out completely unless I back off the throttle. Air cleaner is new. Fuel pump is new. Fuel filter is new. Same behavior with MAF connected and disconnected. Same behavior with EGR connected and disconnected. Same behavior with FPR connected to vacuum and disconnected. TPS follows appropriately on a ..read more

Sharing my experience fixing my 1997 Deville with a hard to move column shift lever, esp. when cold! First off. HUGE thanks to rodnok01 (and the community overll) who posted his inital experience repairing two of his (a 97 and a 98). I will add my lessons learned to compliment his experience, steps and lessons learned. Im a pretty good DIY mechanic, but benefit from videos, pictures (Im a visual learner) clear description, and always seem to encounter some kind of issue ;^) See robnok'* inital his post here. from another forum. Great start that gave me the confidence to try. I followed his ..read more

Bran new truck, have had it 2 1/2 months, but batteries have been completely drained 3 times already for no apparent reason. First time was after 1 month. Had to jump it to start, then again next morning before taking it to dealer. They had it 2 days and could not find cause and just checked and recharged batteries. Truck worked fine since until now. After taking it on an 1100 mile road trip, went to clean truck and found batteries completely dead when done. They were fine when I started as i was able to open truck, mirrors popped out, running boards came down and also opened the tailgate. Som ..read more

New to me, and really liking it. I ran the onboard diagnostic and got the following codes. Three known issues: 1. Very Low Refrigerant message - so temp control inhibited 2. Noises from dah to right of radio, suspected actuator door stuck (code confirms that) 3. Srtiff column shifter lever in cold weather Here are the codes I got. Any particularly concerning or known easy fixes? Anything airbag never good. Normal ELC behavior? Wondering if I should grab oparts from a donor

I sometimes heard a pump sound rear suspension. When I first got the 1997 DeVille Elegance (40K mlies), family members said it had some "Air shock" issue, which made me assume there was an issue. And having never heard of an ELC system before, I didn't realize they ran a preload check on Startup, and they should be heard at startup. Although I cant say for sure if I heard them every startup. Checked more closely today. After ignition on 20 seconds go by, then there is a short Shhh sound (sounds like briefly hitting the Shrader valve on bike tire). Then a pump (or something) activates for 3-5 ..read more

3800 Series II Supercharged (L67) Question

Hello all. I've been looking into buying something with a Buick 3800 engine in it so I've been doing some research and have read that the NA Series II upper intake manifold is plastic and degrades around the EGR passage and can cause coolant to dump into the engine. I'm assuming that since the Supercharged Series II (L67) has the supercharger in place of the UIM that means it doesn't have this same issue? Are there any issues with the Series II Supercharged 3800 that are unique to it? Does the supercharged engine still have the lower intake manifold gasket issues like the NA engine does ..read more
