As a newcomer to the world of e-bikes, well my wife is should I say, but I was wondering about the perils and pitfalls with the storage and charging of e-bike batteries. Firstly, I would never leave my battery on charge if I wasn't in the house, nor would I charge it in the shed out of sight of the house.
But I've just watched a rather alarming You Tube clip of a lithium e-bike battery catching fire whilst in a supposedly "fire proof" bag, it wasn't pretty to say the least!!!
So, who keeps...

Hi,
I've been looking at various Ebikes lately and must admit I've been seriously tempted into buying one after having a go on one.
Naturally I've been googling and learning all about the ins and outs about them and somehow found myself reading about all the scary stuff about Ebike fires.
In the perfect world we would all have a warm dry garage away from the house to charge a battery but in reality it's not always the case.
I was just wondering where do you good people charge your...

In my ageing years I needed an ebike that was easy to lift into my car, so of course weight was the consideration. Most of the ready made ebikes are heavy in excess of 27 kgs, so I decided to buy a lightweight folding bicycle. After much deliberation based on design in the main and weight, I chose the Dawes Jack at 13 kgs. This cycle had rear carrier that I proposed would be ideal for mounting the battery on and to spread the weight.
I then looked at all the ebike kits available and finally...

Pickering Town CIC via grant from North York Moors NP have fitted a free to use E-Bike Charger at Big Bears Bikes.
I can see this being popular with motorhome and camper van users overnighting @ Big Bears Bikes.
Be a nice addition as they already have a bike wash station round the back.

So today my wife finally collected her new Cube Kathmandu SLX750 and very nice it is too!
Just doing some fine tuning to her riding position and the need to lower the angle of the stem down a touch. I was assuming that as there are two Allen bolts in the stem it would just be a case of undoing said bolts, adjusting the angle and then retightening the two Allen screws again....wrong!
I've undone the both the Allen screws (actually removed the lower one altogether) and it still refusing to...

Hi,
I thought I would dip my toe into the Electric bikes forum to pick your brains on the "Gogo Best e bike"
My dad bought it last October to use and enjoy but he's sadly reluctantly come to the conclusion it's not for him .He bought it thinking the fat tyres would offer great stability over our atrocious roads and the powerful motor would help him tackle the steep hills here in Wales.Well he was right on those lines ,but as he's getting on a bit he finds the bike way to big for him to cock...

I should add that it's being offered at a very low price so it might be worth it but perhaps this is an indication this ebike is on its last legs ..read more
