My recently turned 3-year-old started ballet in November and is OBSESSED. Everything is ballet, even a walk to the park includes multiple stops at anything that remotely looks like a barre ?. So without being that parent what can I do to help nurture this love? She has already declared she WILL be a 'white swan on stage when I'm a bigger ballerina' after we went to see ENB my first ballet: Swan Lake a few weeks ago and is adamant that ballet is her work (obviously taking this all with a pinch of salt). Yesterday after one of her many ballet shows she told me that she really really needs a ..read more

I am trying to look for a Venue to start a new class but I just cannot make the sum works. The cost of venue hire vs the number of students or the amount I need to charge in order to just break even. Average venue hire in my area is around 30-40 pounds per hire per hour. Just wondering who everyone else manage?  ..read more

Hi all, my DD usually wears Bloch pointe shoes with a canvas type lining which are easy to sew ribbons onto. She’s recently switched to capezio pointe shoes which have faux suede type lining. They’re really tricky to sew through. Does anyone have any tips or experience of sewing ribbons into these shoes? I feel defeated and like I might just have to sew through to the satin! Any help???  ..read more

I just wanted to ask about ballet at Tring. I have seen so many people who have been offered MDS funding at Tring turn it down. Is there a reason? Looking at it for next year but am concerned by what seems to be everyone turning it down. Know of a few people there who love it but would like to find out more. Child would have to board ..read more

Interested in applying for LVS for next year but it’s about a 1-2hr train journey each way. I think that’s too tiring on top of being at school each day but wondered what the norm was.  ..read more

Hi Can anyone give me any experiences, info, advice about Associate classes in London, specifically at ENBS, Rambert, Central - the last 2 offer full days for cheaper. Any recommendations, or elsewhere that I've missed for Saturday (not RBS). Is Rambert good for classical ballet? Context is 15 year old girl at ENBS senior associates currently for the 1st year, I don't know what happens next year, if it is just a repeat of this year, (9:30-1, ballet class and Rambert syllabus contemporary class). Currently she has to reaudition like everyone else to continue into Yr 2 and there's been no feedba ..read more
