Hello all, new to the forum and here to get opinions on a very strange issue that has me scratching my head. My 2015 optima EX hybrid Was exhibiting transmission issues along with a hybrid warning light, Dealer diagnosed it as an internal transmission solenoid issue. Hello. So I had the dreaded engine death. And dealership let me know yesterday that Kia approved the engine but they don’t cover the install package which includes the hoses, belts, and sensors and that it would run me about $1100. Has anyone else had to pay for this or had experience with this at all? Currently waiting for Kia to get back to me on if i pay it if they’d reimburse me? Appreciate any info ..read more

I used to have a 2016 optima elx, I drove it like I stole it on a daily basis with no issues, now I have a 2016 cadenza and it’s been having issues with the brakes since I got it. The issues aren’t related to the current recall on it and I baby the car. Does anyone know if swapping out the brakes for the ones on the optima is doable? Hi all. I bought my teenage son a 2013 Optima with a new engine after the recall. He's had it a year and the headlights have only gotten worse. It's as if it's only putting out enough voltage to get 20% output. We replaced the bulbs with the highest level of brightness possible and it changed nothing. This happened now five (5) times over the past few years. When I floor or really step on the gas my car IMMEDIATELY shuts off and coasts to a stop. Happened several times in dangerous highway ramp conditions.
