The 2024 Washington Picken International will take place April 25-28, 2024, in Reston, Virgina. The event will feature the Ice Dance discipline in the novice, junior and senior divisions, and will be conducted in accordance with the 2023-24 ISU Constitution and General Regulations, the Technical Rules for Ice Dance 2023/24 (ISU Communication 2560) and relevant ISU Communications.

Hi, i’m a 17 year old beginner figure skater currently upto learning scratch spins and a salchow (i progress really fast when learning new skills). I’m about 52k (114lbs) height is around 5’5 and i skate nearly everyday, i have 5 private lessons a fortnight and practice often in the public sessions as well. i’m currently using jackson’s mystiques which aren’t for the level im at right now and ive been told multiple times to change my skates before i end up hurting myself since those skates...

Hello GSers (or Good Souls as I like to think of you)!
I just finished some major upgrades to the World Junior Rewatches from 2001-2010, breaking out the skating order and individually linking to skaters within the various event broadcasts making us more aware of skaters previously un-featured individually and making the events WAY more interesting.

Male, 34, 100 KG (220 LBS), Greek toe shape.
Very flat arches and slight pronation in the knees, skating with red CURREX hockey insoles - before the insoles suffered a lot from arch pain, the insoles helped a bit.
Have been skating in size 285 Edea Chorus (only fitting help was the Edea measuring device). There seems to be around 15mm distance between the foot imprint and the end of the insole.

Hi! I’m very new to this forum
I started skating about 4 years ago with lots of breaks in between (so practically only about a year) and now I’m starting to get back to it and learning singles.
I used to skate with Edea overture and mirage blades and switched to Ice flys and Legacy 7”.

Does this happen often ? Is it more pressure to do the long program while being 1st vs. being 2nd, 3rd and 4th after the short program ..read more

The 2024 ISU International Adult Competition will take place May 12-17, 2024, in Oberstdorf, Germany. The competition is for adult skaters who have reached at least the age of twenty-eight (28) and Synchronized skaters at least the age of twenty-five (25) before July 1st preceding the event but have not reached the age of seventy-eight (78) before July 1st preceding the competition.
