I don't think there's a good fix for that without welding. Without the bushing cup, the rod will knock around in the hole. However, I don't think you necessarily need the full cup, just something to center the bushing. They make belleville springs up to some huge sizes, I think grinding off what's left of the cup and welding on an oversized belleville would probably do the trick. https://www.mcmaster.com/products/cup-w ... springs-7/ Statistics: Posted by VStar650CL — Thu Apr 25, 2024 7:09 pm ..read more

I understand that, and also that to most people car repairs elicit worry and frustration. And my stand has always been that I don't mind offering help to someone who joins just to solve one issue and be gone. No pressure to stay around and hang out. Heck, that's why I offer to post pictures for people [we need an easier way for that btw] It's also understandable if it takes a long time in between problem and solution and you forget your login info. But eventually, it could take as much or as little time as it took to join originally and give an update as a courtesy to the people that took it ..read more

This all started because the ball joints were destroyed. 3 weeks later....let's say we shouldn't be surprised, the original owner of this truck never changed a single part. Not one. The sway bar link had gone so bad that the bolt was creating a snowman second bolt hole in the lower cross arm. New cross arm ordered. I need opinion help on the compression rod/strut rod. As you can see it was so heavily damaged, the metal had fatigued and I was flicking off chunks with my finger. New compression rod/strut rod ordered. But the first picture shows my concern. The bushing washer that's permanently ..read more

No, the antenna at the back of the roof is for XSM, the FM/AM comes in through the window antenna. But looking over your wiring diagrams, the SXM receiver is a separate unit in the trunk, not an embedded part of the radio like all the later stuff. It looks to be the same for all trim levels. It has a bit-bang LIN which talks to the radio, and it decodes the audio onboard before sending it to the radio. So you could have a bad receiver or a bad wire in the LIN rendering the receiver incommunicado. I still think the antenna is your likely culprit, but there are other possibilities. Did both SAT options (back then) share the same antenna? Got me wondering now, how hard it would be to find an antenna for either option should you need one! Statistics: Posted by steve_c — Thu Apr 25, 2024 12:52 pm ..read more

Honestly, that sounds more like a dying XM antenna than a loose wire. They don't go bad frequently, but they do go bad. Spotty reception is usually the first sign, and on some of the older stuff, the "XM" option will disappear if the antenna is incommunicado. Re: "Hard Reset" So I went ahead with the hard reset. Didn't help. This problem seems to be a loose connection. Sometimes after the car is running, the XM function starts working again. Statistics: Posted by billsacto — Thu Apr 25, 2024 11:49 am ..read more

Leafs with 5~6 bars typically range 30~45 miles and are useless for anything but very local commuting. That's the buyer choice to make. I think the EPA statistic for the average daily commute in America is like 40 miles. Perfect for these cars. Statistics: Posted by atikovi — Thu Apr 25, 2024 9:57 am ..read more
