Are there more granular laptop fan speed solutions?

One thing I noticed when I went from Ubuntu to BL on my Asus Zenbook was a difference in the intensity of the cooling fan speeds. I just installed on a Thinkpad T15 and I've noticed it again. It seemed that in Ubuntu, the fans would kick in at a low level as load increased, and then go high when the load got even higher. I'm not sure how many levels of speed were happening. But in BL, the fans seem to come in at a fairly high level automatically. There might be at least two speeds, but I'm not sure. Has anyone else experienced this? Are there any related packages that Ubuntu is using but not D ..read more

A long time ago, I set up the Firefox Data Collection and Use  section as shown in the picture. I simply did not allow anything. Now I see that a new section has been added in FF 128.0: Website Advertising Preferences. It's ok that the developers added something, but why is that box checked (by default)? Saving user profiles; a useful idea for a program?

I'm about to buy another laptop and frankly, the process of reinstalling and tweaking everything to my preferences is part of my hesitation in actually going out and doing it. I was wishing for something like a user profile, such as in Firefox or Chrome, where you can install the browser on a different machine, log into your user profile, and then all or most of the customized choices are imported. I'm not advocating for a web-based user profile as that would work against the user privacy inherent in Linux, but I did start thinking about the value of having something that could 'save' or 'load ..read more

I's the same Realtek hardware (different vendor ID) as a laptop I have up & working, did you install from the full iso? Or do a netinstall?
