Dang, mishit the keys and instead of choosing the xfce desktop I hit to carry on with the installation of a pre-selected Gnome. That by installing Debian 12.6.0 base. That on my 32bit 2GB RAM Asus laptop. What is the best way to revert the choice and get xfce after the installation is complete? Hi everybody I'm running Ubuntu 24.04 alongside Windows 11 Pro, and I recently found a method to change the icons of the drives in Windows and I applied it. The method is the following: 1. Copy the ico file in the root of the drive. 2. Create a txt file in the root of the drive and rename it "autorun.inf". 3. Open "autorun.inf" with a text editor and type the following: [autorun] icon="name+extension of the ico file" Click to expand... 4. Save the file, restart Windows and voilĂ ! The job is... Hello everybody I've recently done a fresh install of Ubuntu 24.04 and wanted to install Wine. I opened the App Center but couldn't find Wine among the Snap packages. So I looked into Debian packages and found 3 results: Wine, Winetricks and Q4Wine. I installed them all but I still could not run my Windows applications: when I double clicked on the exe file nothing happened. So I removed all 3 Debian packages and started to google it, and found this very promising guide... Read more ..read more

Preface: I own an Intel Core i9-13900K, installed on my home PC. There was recent news that indicated mysterious hardware failure affecting the Raptor Lake CPUs, specifically the unlocked Core i9s from the 13th and 14th generations. Although the sources that first reported this issue were using the CPUs on game servers, which likely meant they were being utilized heavily, the 100% hardware failure rate they reported was shocking to say the least. Hence, I wanted to protect the... Read more ..read more

The professor has suggested to get the newest edition but the one below it can be used too. My question is, what is the difference between the 4th and 5th editions of this book??? ps. told my husband at the dinner table and I am deaf but I felt him squeal in happiness that I got into the...
