Subject: Defender wheels on L494
Posted: Thu May 02 2024 1:57pm (GMT 1)
Hi all, I have tried searching the voluminous archives but cannot find the answer to my question.
Can I fit 19"/20" Defender wheels to my RRS Autobiography (the red calipers if they are relevant)?
I'd be looking at either the 20s with 255/60/r20 or 19s with 255/65/r19.
TIA
Dean

Subject: How to get this part out
Posted: Wed May 01 2024 1:53pm (GMT 1)
I bought a used plenum off eBay (£20 delivered - bargain !) which came with throttle bodies, what I presume are MAP sensors ? various rubber connectors and jubilee clips.
I’m taking it to my local gearbox specialist for them to put in their parts washer and will clean up everything I’ve taken off (throttle bodies, MAP sensors) by hand.
There’s one thing I can’t remove which is shown in the pic. From googling the part number (6H4Q-6631-BA) it seems...

Subject: Smoke test should pressure build up?
Posted: Tue Apr 30 2024 9:14pm (GMT 1)
Hi all,
My sport still goes in to limp mode when gently accelerating which I believe is a relatively common problem on the 4.4tdv8.
I recently bought a smoke machine and completed a smoke test. No smoke came out of anywhere but I couldn’t build up any pressure when testing. Now in my head it should be a sealed system and therefore it should be able to hold pressure and certainly from a small smoke machine which when blocked with my finger builds pressure...

Does anybody here have this colour? I've never seen it in the wild - does anyone have any real world pics rather than the lousy representation on the LR website?

I'm trying to weigh up the differences between these two - is the autiobiography really worth the extra £10K?

Subject: MY2010 A pillar clips

Does anyone happen to have the part number for the lower outer clips ? There’s one each side and they get a bit mangled taking them off.
I’m in the process of refurbing my wiper arms and whilst I’m going to the trouble of getting them off, I may as well refurb the scuttle panel.
That means removing the A pillar trims…
You know how it goes.
Luckily I didn’t break a single inner clip - which was nice.

Subject: Airbag control module part number
Posted: Mon Apr 29 2024 5:32pm (GMT 1)
I have a red indicator of an airbag fault and the local mechanic narrowed it down to the airbag control module.
Since the part is burried under the center console, it would be a huge help to find the part number before hand. I have found some on ebay listings for around 20 euros or so but I am unsure if they are the correct one for my car.
I tried contacting an offical land rover service center, but they quoted me 1050 euro for it and refused to tell me...
