I have a small issue that could easily turn into a bigger one if I don't do anything about it soon. My lower glovebox won't open. It used to be sporadic but now it's not playing the game at all. The upper one opens just fine but the switch doesn't illuminate any longer, that could be a clue. I have checked the Fues in the rear compartment and it is fine, there is power etc. and the wiring all looks good. So, has anyone got any tips for how to remove it to inspect the catch that don't... Hello all, I’m Planning on swapping the water pump as a preventative measure on a 2012 L322 4.4 TDV8 Just coming up to 115k on the original pump. Any “how to” guides? New condensor and hose plus a leak test and refill 2 yrs ago so I've potentially still got a little leak OR (leading on to the actual question!) Does the book symbol showing prevent the ac working? The fault is the pot on a blend motor btw ..read more

Steering wheel decals

Anybody done them? Mode- set-resume etc. I got the decals,£5 iirc ages ago off some guy on Facebook who refurbishs wood steering wheels. He's done a youtube video of how to apply them which involves dropping them in a bowl of water for a minute then teasing off the backing paper using tweezers and carefully placing them on the relevant button then gently pressing excess water out which I can't imagine is much at all. However, he does it with the wheel off the car and strips lots of stuff off... Read more ..read more

What are the plastic lugs on the back of the steering wheel for?

I'm restoring a steering wheel to replace my old tired one. The one I have has a plastic lug missing as shown in the image. When I bought it, I was planning on just swapping the whole black back piece from my old wheel, but I can't for the life of me get it off. Do I need this plastic lug that I'm missing. If it's for indicator reset, then yes. If it's just a location guide then surely I can live with out it. If I do need it, any idea of the round plastic thing comes off ..read more

Just contributing my experience on this forum (as I have already on the Facebook ones). Regarding giving my DPF a clean whilst still on vehicle.. in the video towards the end you can see the whole load of smoke that came out! And this was on the second clean of the week. I figured doing it twice was worth while. https://youtu.be/rLY58HXtDNw I also love the fact that when you tube was parsing the audio it thought the sound of the engine was music. I do have to agree on that one... Read more ..read more

New lifters preload V8
Landy Zone » Range Rover

My new lifters and new cam need preload setting. I didn't change the pushrods , they are ok. I compare the new OEM with the original , it s quite the same (photos) except the size of the cup that hold the pushrod inside, it's larger and deeper. I wonder if i can put the original "cup" on the new lifters as they are paired with the original pushrods ... Half of the lifters are out of the preload tolerance (2 mm or 80 thou instead 1,5 mm or 60 thou max) So i should put a set of 0,03" shim... Read more ..read more
