Some really nice LR4's with bad motors are coming up on marketplace, there's one local enough for $2K. I have a 08 LR3 with a good engine and driveline but the underside is really crusty and I suspect that in 5 years time it's going to look pretty awful. The LR4 I saw is a 2012, so that should have the ZF 6 speed, and thinking that a 4.4 might bolt in where the 5.0 sits now. Has anyone tried this? Engine runs smooth and strong at idle and under load. No strong exhaust smells. very hard to start... takes 4-5 attempts with various number of cranks. Usually between 5-10 seconds to get it to fire up. doesn't matter if its hot or cold. ignition amp 1 year old. connectors and grounds look ok cap looks fine new rotor wires one year old battery voltage tested fine but not tested for cranking amps. battery grounds cleaned battery hot lead may show a little age... Hi all! Been getting a low coolant message the past three weeks. A lot of work was done to my ‘13 RRS 5.0 SC the last year and a half. Lots of new coolant system bits and had the ac fixed. Shop that did the ac buttoned up some coolant system issues last year September. Started getting low coolant messages like I said about three weeks ago. Added coolant and message went away. So I decided to change my transfer case fluid today. I've been meaning to do this for about a year now. The fluid (Valvoline synthetic 75w140 out of Walmart) has been sitting the truck for quite a while. So. I knew it's a pain to get to the fill plug, as there is little clearance there plus that hose or whatever it is, blocking access. But dudes on Youtube seem to get around that pretty easily.
