There are plenty of SMS whiskies in the $40 to $55 US range that I like better than pretty much any US whisky. Statistics: Posted by whiskgeek — Tue May 14, 2024 12:37 am ..read more

Just buy all the scotch you need for the next couple of decades now.itll save you money in the long run and in twenty years time the generation of scotch fanatics will be dying off so you'll benefit from a glut of cheap scotch just as your twenty years stock gets exhausted Statistics: Posted by scotchio — Sat May 11, 2024 5:55 am ..read more

I'm not a fan of bourbon because it all tastes the same to me. Even when you add in variations on mashbills, and even move away from whiskies that aren't strictly bourbon (Tennessee Whisky, anyone?) there's not a huge variety. And either way, I'm not a big fan of the profile. Rye whiskies are slightly more interesting, but I'm still not a fan. And let's not talk about the price increase they've undergone. Then there are the American single malts. I haven't found many that I liked. And they're not too cheap either. But I like them so much I still buy them, at their inflated prices. Hi there, if you are concerned it is not news to be happy about. But in a world awash with alcoholic beverages the pendulum can start to swing the other way any minute. Eternal growth is never sustainable. What's more, it is not possible. https://vinepair.com/articles/craft-spirits-in-trouble/ Greetings kallaskander Statistics: Posted by kallaskander — Fri May 10, 2024 8:15 am ..read more

As I look at the prices of my "nice" bottles skyrocket (something I bought 6 months ago at 116 (initially bought 4 years ago for 76) is now 200 and become more NAS, I find myself turning away from SMS and looking at new distilleries (American) which while young (1-4 years) are quite potable and worth having in my cabinet. I bought a bottle from a few local distilleries and see myself going more this way. Anyone else finding themselves venture out to other whisky distilleries? I still buy the occasional bottle but it's definitely rarer than it used to be even up to a year ago. Statistics: Pos ..read more

Hi there, the elders among us may know the name of Ian Millar.... long time brand ambassador for Glenfiddich... those were the days.... https://whiskymag.com/articles/intervie ... istillery/ There is another name mentioned, Caroline and when I read it I thought.... . But it was not Caroline Whitfield if somebody remembers here name and role in former Shetland whisky distillery projects.
