Just out of the 6200 mile penalty box - now what?

We recently passed the 6200 mile limit on our 2020 Bolt and the charging cap has been automatically lifted, but does anyone know what happens now? Do the analytics collected get automatically sent to GM, or do we need to schedule another service? Wondering if we get a report as to whether our battery is clear or not - would be nice to know that we'll hear something after going through all of that ..read more

Super Cruise in Canada. Specifically the GTA

2023 EUV Premier owner here. Are there any SuperCruise owners in the Greater Toronto Area here, that can chime in with their current experiences? Bought it in AUG 2023, at which time the SC worked for all intents and purposes, relatively well. For quite some time now, coverage (white steering wheel icon) has been limited. The DVP/404 coverage is anemic at best now, as is the 401 across the top of city. Dealer claims it's AOK, so perhaps I'm the crazy one here... RCH ..read more

Goodbye To This Forum - New Blazer EV

My beloved Bolt EUV lease has ended and it is grounded at the dealer. I thought the car was great but the lease residual was way too high for me to buy it. So I now have a 2024 Blazer EV. It's much bigger. I got a sweet lease deal on it as well. The user interface is Android Automotive so no more phone based Android Auto. This is an OK change for a Android phone user but I think an iPhone owner will not be so happy. When you log in with your Android account it comes alive. The... I bought my 2017 Bolt from Enterprise when it was two years old. The battery recall went smoothly, though those parking/charging issues were very annoying. I've had one problem with "propulsion reduced" and have had to reset the infotainment screen several times and replaced the 12 volt battery a month ago due to to whacky computer problems that can afflict all modern cars. Brake master cylinder "ticking" was fixed with software update when the big battery was replaced. No other... 2017 Bolt owner. I just rented a Tesla Model 3 for eight days. My experience ..read more

Summit Ultramax A/S Tires

Hi all, My 2017 Bolt was totaled in a head on collision. Long story (and my left ear got damaged by the side curtain airbag but that is for another post ). We replaced it with a 2020 Bolt from a Chevy Dealer. Looks great and came with a 1 year warranty. It also came with brand new Summit Ultramax A/S Tires which, while they look ok, seem to get really terrible e-mileage. In my old 2017, while driving around town with the original tires, I could often hit 8 mi/kWh. I would have to baby... Summit Ultramax A/S Tires ..read more

Level 2 charging and beyond.

Wondering the battery cooling kicks on when charging at Level 2 or even higher like certain Tesla models. At what point does it become dangerous? Is there a max cutoff? Like you cannot charge a 100 KwH battery at a 1000 KwH charger or that is possible ..read more

WiFi LAN only without OnStar?
Chevy Bolt EV Forum

Maybe a weird question, but…does the car’s WiFi hotspot work without OnStar for purely local-network purposes? E.g., could you have a phone and dash cam connected to the hotspot so they could communicate with each other, even if the hotspot has no internet access? Much like how devices connected to in-home WiFi can still communicate with each other even if the cable modem is unplugged ..read more

110V with EVSE

Just curious. Is it even possible to use a 110V circuit with a say 40 Amp breaker. Like can 32 Amps be drawn from such a setup? Will the EVSE work on such a line or are there such EV chargers out there? I have seen 110V and max 16 Amps on Amazon. Thanks ..read more
