Come on Chevrolet, fix the "Condition not correct for shift" software issue!

So it happened to me with my 2023 Bolt EV. I shut down my Bolt at the recycling center to unload some items to be recycled. When I tried to start it back up to leave, I got the dreaded "Condition not correct for shift" message and it wouldn't shift. It wouldn't really shut down fully when pressing the power button. I couldn't get it to go, but fortunately I had a 10mm wrench based on reading about this issue from others. I disconnected the negative battery terminal for about 5 seconds... 2023 Bolt EUV with 15" Rims & 205/65R15 Tires & Aftermarket TPMS

Low profile tire blew out after hitting a pothole, left me walking. Went with all the sidewall. I do not recommend the 15" Goodyear Assurance tires, the grip is marginally better compared to OE in dry, but they are fresh (10 miles so far) so might take a bit to wear in. Hope this helps someone. Rims $240 from Henderson Auto in Oak Park, MI TPMS $60: from Amazon Tires:$540 after $50 rebate from Belle Tire, Highland, MI $840 total to hopefully not have to deal with this again. Changed Rear Wiper Blade to Beam Type
Chevy Bolt EV Forum

I removed the rear wiper blade cover and changed the blade to a beam type. The wiper arm is a J-hook size 9x3. I also added black cap nut to make it look more finished. The wiper arm bolt has M8 thread. It was surprisingly difficult to find a 12" beam type wiper blade. I ended up buying the Aero brand 12" beam blade. Any beam blade longer than 12" won't fit under the wiper arm. I like this new look ..read more

Bad charging scenario

So I am planning a trip this summer to the mountains, and the nearest charging facilities are about 75 miles before. But it isn't just 150 miles I need, I will be driving around at the destination, so I need more like 200 miles. Charging to 80% just won't cut it. I will be arriving at the charger at about 40% and need to charge at least to 95% - a worst case scenario. How long will that take? At least 90 minutes I assume. Since I need to arrive by about 10:30am at the latest, I basically... Bad charging scenario ..read more

Brake lights on regen, new concern
Chevy Bolt EV Forum

I've often wondered "why is that guy in front of me is hitting the brakes for no reason!" I've known about the brake lights coming on during regen, but now I realize I'm that guy hitting the brakes for no reason. Is the a fuse that controls just the lights during regenerative braking? No one has yelled at me about brake checking, but few near tailgaters have given me a look while passing, no finger yet either. I've read of a few members getting flak about it. I usually drive in the... Brake lights on regen, new concern ..read more

Regenerative braking when stopping behind a car
Chevy Bolt EV Forum

When using one pedal or paddle regenerative braking does the car brake in such a manner as to stop before possibly hitting a car that has already stopped? If so what margin of safety is provided so as to not alarm either driver. Can this be set by the follow-margin of the adaptive cruise control toggle switch? Thanks ..read more

How much is L2 at a hotel worth to you?

So I'm planning a small trip that would normally require a brief charge on the way, maybe 15 minutes (using ABRP). Looking for hotels at the destination, the cost for a hotel with L2 charging is significantly higher than the hotels I would typically book ($180 vs $110). However, if I don't have L2 charging at the hotel, then I have to stop at a DCFC station to charge before coming back. It would add about an hour and half of charging, and I'm traveling with a toddler (just 2 of us). So I'm... How much is L2 at a hotel worth to you ..read more

NACS adapter

So I just spoke with someone with GM who called me concerning the CCCS adapter that will work with the Tesla supercharging network. I was informed that they will issue in adapter late this year. So I said that I will not be able to use the Tesla supercharging network until late this year, and she said “that is correct“. When I asked her why there was a delay, she stated that they were not given a reason. And have a nice day ..read more

Does anyone know for a fact if you will have to have an On Star plan to get the full functionality of Android Automotive? In my mind as long as it could use the data from your phone it should be good, all the other data is just coming from the car. Also will it allow you to use your phone for data ..read more
