Hey guys new member here. I have a 2012 cruze with the 1.4 in it. Recently it has started to smoke when under light load. Meaning only when I accelerate but barely. If I gun it or am coasting there is no smoke. It isn't a steady stream of smoke either. It is one big burst of grayish white smoke and then nothing for a while. Had a valve cover debacle with Jiffy Lube. They said they replaced my valve cover with a new valve cover. After I took it to my shop, they said they did not think it was new and gave it to me in a box after they replaced it. Sharing pictures of what they claimed was a new valve cover next to what my mechanic put on. Hey guys I currently have the gauge/instrument lights dimmed to the lowest setting. Whenever it is very sunny out the lights get bright and then dim when dark. Is there anyway to permanently keep the lights at the dimmest setting, regardless of light conditions outside? Thanks ..read more

Ok, 1.8L Gas. I replaced the Timing Chain Cover Gasket. The gasket was definitely bad. The engine did shut off from getting hot. It runs great once I go the timing right, but I'm still getting oil in the Coolant. I decided I'm going to change the head gasket, but I'm not getting any exhaust gas in the coolant. I'm not sure the oil passage can have a leak to the coolant passage? Has anyone heard of this? My other suspect is a bad oil cooler since I changed the seals in the oil cooler but not... In a recent video from South Main Auto Repair, Eric O. runs down a current draw issue on a 2014 Impala with about 40,000 miles on the odo, & finds it's a defective radio module. He's unable to buy this part anywhere - GM has ended support for this 10 year old car. He might be able to find one in a scrap yard but it will need a fairly elaborate reprogramming procedure. Hiya! I've been chasing a primary code (I'll list all codes below) since February of last year, and I worked on it with family and friend mechanics, and taken it to the auto shop multiple times. My CEL always turns off for about a week before coming back on, and the rough idle when I'm fully stopped always comes back. I was inspecting the engine compartment today and noticed the large rubber hose coming off the bottom of the turbo had a broken hose clamp at the opposite end of turbo. Is this a coolant supply hose to the turbo? No idea how this would have broken or how long it's been like that. It's never been touched. I felt underneath connection and felt dry.
