Hot water on both kitchen faucets

Hi All, New to forum! My current issue is I just bought an 07 keystone cougar 5th wheel. Has rear kitchen and that where water heater is located. The kitchen faucet has two knobs (not a single control handle) and hot water is coming out of both faucets. However the bathroom faucets work properly. Don't understand what the issue could be. Secondary... I didn't think the propane pilot would stay ignited if the lighted power switch for the propane water heater was turned off? My previous... Read more ..read more

Look Ma, No Trailer Brakes (at least not enough brakes)

We snowbird in AZ in the winter months and at some point before the temps get into the 90's I always pull all the hubs (triple axle), repack wheel bearings and inspect brakes. This year I had three bad brakes on one side which is a first but not unexpected. I replaced all three with auto adjusters which I didn't even know existed and all was right with the world. I did pre-adjust the auto's by the way. Unfortunately I didn't bother to test drive the rig after this and just assumed all... Read more ..read more

Instead of camping near a beach my son said he wanted to go somewhere we learn some history instead. Of course the first thought for me was we could drive up and camp around DC and see the monuments. I am looking at possible other ideas I know there has to be really good ones that I am not aware of. We live around Nashville, TN so something around a 10 hr radius is kind of what we had in mind. Any ideas ..read more

Trailer and truck tire pressures?
The RV Forum Community
by Blaise

We are on a cross country trip from NY to CA, in KY at the moment. Before we left, I checked trailer tire pressures - all 4 tires were at about 65 PSI. The tag on the trailer says "cold pressure 80 PSI". So I pumped them up to 80 PSI each. Our GD Reflection has the "Compass Connect" feature - a phone app that connects to the trailer via blutooth. It allows you to control a bunch of stuff with your phone (lights on and off, slides in and out, leveling, etc). It also integrates the Tire Linc... Read more ..read more

A friend asked Chris to keep an eye open for a knee board for their grandkids. She said "I think Tom kept ours" and, sure enough, I had it in a shed in the original box. Sent the friend a photo of champion knee boarder Grandma Chris showing how it's done ..read more

Need help replacing awning LED strip
The RV Forum Community
by Stark Fire
22h ago
I recently purchased a 2018 travel trailer and everything is in great shape. One of the issues is the LED strip that goes across the upper side of the camper under the awning. The existing strip is 20 feet long, and only 4 feet of the strip was working, so I know it was receiving power. The remaining 16 feet didn’t work. I purchased a new 20 foot LED strip. I removed the old strip and disconnected it from the wires coming out of the camper. There are five wires coming out of the camper... Read more ..read more

In preparation for the campaign season I just realized I forgot to empty hot water tank last fall… It was full with water all winter. The temperatures here well below freezing point during the winter. Any recommendations how to check the hot water tank now? Anything to do before I am filling it with water and turn it on? Thank you ..read more

New guy, transsitioning from 35 years of sail crusing on weekends, vacation in the Chesapeak and offshore between Norfolk, USVI, USBI, Bermuda and now looking to do some land crusing. I have a Flagstaff 25FKBS. The trailer was built in November 2022 and we purchased it, used with limited use(maybe once), in march of 2023 I cover the trailer when not used and i'm finding the cover is sticking to the sealant on the roof. It appears to be the origin installation of sealant. Any suggestions... Read more ..read more

SF Bay Area gas prices
The RV Forum Community

I was casually watching local news yesterday when this popped on screen. Stated to be the highest gas prices in the Bay Area, actually in Menlo Park. Might be time to buy a horse and buggy. Fortunately, we drive relatively few 'local' miles and, when we get out of town, we experience much lower prices in other states ..read more
