Used ski lifts are still finding new homes at North American ski resorts. But the cost of refurbishment, safety concerns, vanishing engineering knowledge, and increasing... www.saminfo.com ..read more

Sometimes its the Tickets you have. Sometimes it the Skiing and Riding partners you are with. Hopefully its due to a better SNOW storm or SNOW conditions at certain mountains and not crappy conditions. Here is where other can throw a little help or ideas? This is a interesting weekend and Storm system to say the least. Have someone coming and meeting me up in VT to ride on SAT and SUN. The Sunday is open for Sothern VT. Gunstock - More Improvements Planned for Gunstock www.gunstock.com Really nice plan by Gunstock. Expanding from 4 to 6 reliable trails off the summit is going to be great. Some will miss Hot Shot as an all natural trail, but as great as it is as a narrow natural trail, it's hardly ever open as Gunstock isn't blessed with a ton of natural. So, this makes a lot of sense and adds much needed reliable... Read more ..read more

I'm not going to address the weather, which we can't control but wanted to go over some tips for the eclipse. 1) Close doesn't count for an eclipse. 90% or even 99% coverage is not good enough. If you are traveling to the eclipse you need to be in 100% totality, anything else is a waste of time. Hard to explain, but trust me. On a powder day if the neighbor resort gets 10" and you only get 9", it's all good, but it doesn't work like that for an eclipse. And the closer you get to the... Read more ..read more
