I thought we had discussed this in January but I am not seeing it anywhere. A ski patroller died when a snow laden tree fell on the haul rope of the Short Cut Triple Chair on the Canyons side. The force caused the patroller to be ejected from the chair and launched fifty feet before hitting the snow and dying of asphyxiation. UOSH/OSHA investigated and determined that PCMR's morning lift line inspections were inadequate as were training of the lift operators. LiftBlog has provided a summary... Read more ..read more

Typical cost for seasonal kid's group lessons?
AlpineZone » Northeast Skiing and Snowboarding Forum

Curious what the typical annual cost is for kid's group lessons? I'm not counting equipment, just a "ski season" program where your kid goes every Saturday or Sunday for like a 2hr or 3hr group session. When I worked at Stowe Ski School in the Jurassic Period, we had those & I know they're popular at Smuggs & other places, etc.. One would think this would be a simple question to Google, but most resorts websites have scrubbed this info now that the season's over, or don't even list it to... Read more ..read more

How Many Days Did You Get This Season, (If you keep track) and Did You Set a New Record? How Does This Season Rank in Your Memory?

I’m going for day 60 tomorrow, which will be 9 days more than last season (my previous record). Honestly if March didn’t come through strong this would’ve been a disappointing season quality wise (which is what I care more about than quantity). 2020-2021 was a top season for me even though I only got 30 days the snow was consistently great for most of the winter due to lack of crowds and rain ..read more

Simone Viola Dukhon screamed "sand n word" at me. Arab snowboarders should be careful because this racist woman has been known to snowboard. Simone resides at 25 Sutton Place South, Apartment 18K and 19K New York, NY 10022. If she ever slanders you, you can tell the attorney where she resides. I repeat, Simone Dukhon is a racist snowboarder, so please be careful when you're on the slopes. This is a website describing Simone's behavior: Simone Viola Dukhon is Anti-Muslim simonevioladukhon.blogspot.com ..read more

If you skied there during the 22/23 season would you go back? One of our ski clubs are planning a trip there in 2024. However it seems that things fall off of the haul rope,Tripadvisor reports that the grooming is lacking, and on here that RCR may be in financial trouble. Maybe the EPSC Carnival at Heavenly would be a better trip ..read more

19 days for me was probably the most since the early 2000s. I joined here after lurking for a while, primarily to get familiar with new gear. After being off my boards for several seasons, and using my old ski rig the past few years, I started with a great bootfitting experience with Bill @GMOL, started looking at new skis and got a lot of great input from members. While I was in my lurking phase here, I noticed a lot of threads related to my skiing experiences going back decades, both... Read more ..read more
