Back to that damn algae. I keep cutting it away and it seems to come back even more. Same area just more of it. Same colour too. I dont particularly want to change that bit of wood so is there any other method i could use to get rid of it? I've never seen white algae, almost every other colour but not white. As mentioned it sounds like a biofilm, bacteria can grow that fast. Statistics: Posted by LookoutTrout — Mon Jun 17, 2024 8:00 pm ..read more

What a beautiful set up! It's when I see other enthusiasts tanks that I realise I haven't got a single creative bone in my body! Statistics: Posted by Bluetaurus — Mon Jun 17, 2024 4:14 pm ..read more

I got it november, soaked it til march this year when it went into the new 200l tank I was just wondering if its still some biofilm leeching out eg from a split or crack in the wood that wasn’t there originally. Statistics: Posted by Gingerlove05 — Mon Jun 17, 2024 3:54 pm ..read more

If you switch it off, do the fish stop swimming? I thought they always did when the lights go out. "That's it guys, today's performance is over". I have heard, if you wire these gadgets up the wrong way, the fish swim backwards. Statistics: Posted by Martinspuddle — Mon Jun 17, 2024 2:32 pm ..read more

Risky, if it's big enough to fit in their mouths, it will be probably eaten. Just been looking up Apistogramma borellii (I never kept Apisto's, local water is too hard, except with RO water) they are quite small Cichlid species, so you might just get away with it, if the Boraras and Sundadanio are adult sizes. Question, what is your current stocking level and are you aware this Apistogramma species can be quite sensitive to poor water quality?
