Hey Toyota community! Looking for a bit of advice, long story short it seems like I am having some electrical issues with our 2014 Limited Sequoia. There have been two instances where we (wife and I) have turned off the car after driving to a destination and the car decides to start wigging out…rear hatch window will go down some of the way or/also go all the way down. Immediately after the widow, the door locks start. Unlock then lock and then immediately repeat. The wife obviously isn’t... 2014 Wigging Out…rear window and door locks ..read more

I currently drive a 2017 Corolla and its a great daily driver and has helped me fall in love with the reliability of Toyota. I have always wanted to learn more about fixing cars and am looking for a couple project cars. Found a 2003 Tundra that doesn't stay running and a 1994 4runner that runs and has some cool mods that I am interested in getting. Asking price is $3,600 Tundra and $5,500 for 4Runner. Just wondering if I can get advice on how long the 4 runner might last if I continue to... Wanting to get my first Tundra or 4runner! OR BOTH! Looking for advice ..read more

VSC/Trac Control off mod? (aka andy mod)

Is there a way to disable the Trac/VSC like the andy mod for the Sequoia? I did this mod to my 4runner and love it but wondering if the wiring diagram is the same. I know I know, I need to open the fuse panel to look but havent owned the Sequoia for more than a month now. On my 4 runner I was able to do everything in the fuse panel and connect a rocker switch to disable/enable (with restart). It was very convenient to have so I was surprised I couldnt find any threads on it here. If... VSC/Trac Control off mod? (aka andy mod ..read more

A Different Acceleration Problem

Hi, I toasted the battery trying to jump start my 06 Tundra [crossed-connected the terminals, while dead tired, of course]. Saw lots of smoke coming out. Now the truck will still start and run, but it does not respond to the gas pedal at all. It will slowly accelerate on its own will to about 20-30 MPH. Can anyone tell me what's the problem? And how much damage I got myself into? Thanks ..read more

Hello members, I have a 2020 Crewmax with 24K miles original brakes and wanted to know if any of you have noticed a faint hissing sound (not the pad squeal indicator) coming from your brake pads. They shouldn't be worn out with such low mileage and my easy driving habits. Just want to get you all opinions to see if you've experieced this with your 2nd gen tundras with the original brake pads. Thanks JCS ..read more

Wheel stud OEM help

It may be because I usually get them from autozone or orielys but I've been noticing that no matter how well I torque the lugs, with a torque wrench, just about every other tire removal I end up breaking a wheel stud. I recently replaced my motor mounts and a stud broke trying to remove the tire. Is there a manufacturer that is OEM or am I doing something wrong? I understand lug torque is 97ftlbs for a 2011 Tundra ..read more

Hello everyone, I am honored to be a member of this group. I have recently bought a 2007 Tundra SR5 regular cab, with a 6 1/2 foot bed. It has the 5.7 L V-8 and has plenty of power. I am in the process of having it completely gone over by my mechanic so it will be road worthy. I use the name Oldschool2 because I have been into the four wheel drive scene for 40 years. I started with a CJ-8, the small pickup truck version, and put a camper shell on it. This was unique at the time and... Hello Everyone ..read more

I have a Tundra 2010 5.7 2wd. I have code 2440 bank 1 valve open. Which pump is bank 1? Are the pumps interchangeable? The part number is 17610-C I have also seen a schematic that has both 17610-C and 17610-D and that is the reason for the question. Complete part number is Product ID: 17610-0S010. I plan to do it myself the dealer quoted 4000.00 to do it all pumps valves and so on. Thanks in advance for any help ..read more
