I am considering going on one of Alaska or Caribbean cruise in May 2024.
Major factor in deciding on which cruise liner depends on qualify of wifi-which I will use for work.
I may or not need VPN to connect to work- but it is easier to access work email and work apps with VPN access.
I am confused as to buying wifi as a separate add-on, or as part of package.
Unless going on luxury cruise liner, I understand wifi on cruises is not free.
I am confused as to several levels of wifi that one can buy- ideally I want the fastest wifi I can get- but of course at a reasonable price.
Any rec ..read more

I just got a paper brochure from them in the snail mail and their itineraries look nice. I have not heard of them, however. What have been peoples' experiences?
edit: I used the Google machine and determined they're a newer cruise brand that focuses on Antarctic and Arctic cruises but also has a BOGO Mediterranean sale for 2024 (the brochure I got is for the Med itineraries). Small ships of about 200 passengers, with all food and drink included. They bill themselves as an "adventurous" or "more active" cruise line for people who want to use the ship more as a jumping off point for their own a ..read more

Hi Cruise experts,
My wife wants to take her team on a cruise, going from Shanghai to Japan and back. I have done some research and it seems going through a good agent seems to be the best way to go. In that case can anyone here recommend a good agent that can book Asian cruises for me to book a cruise with?
Thanks ..read more

Hi all, did a search but didn't find a specific thread for cruising with small children ( 1yo - 7yo).
Wife and I have only done 2 cruises, 1 onboard Ruby Princess and another on Harmony of the Seas. No kids back then, but from memory we gathered that Princess has DIY laundry rooms. However Royal Caribbean ships have much more activity / cool features although these would be for teens and older.
We are looking to do a cruise sometime in Feb , and not more than 2 weeks. Been searching around and departing Barcelona looks to tick most of our needs especially weather wise (prefer cooler climate ..read more

Currently enjoying a river cruise on the Danube to visit the Christmas Markets. Due to flooding on the Danube (the heavy snows that paralyzed MUC two weeks ago are melting and there’s been additional rain), we’ve had major changes on our itinerary. We set sail from Nuremberg, made our first port of Regensburg, which we left late, and then stopped unexpectedly in Straubing before we could get to our next planned stop in Passau. We spent two days stuck in Straubing before our cruise line bussed us 4.5 hours to Vienna to board a different ship so we could continue. We were still being wined, dine ..read more

I'm looking at a couple of P&O cruises for 2025. Apparently, there's only one North American travel agency that can sell P&O (Vacations To Go) and they're being very evasive in my queries. I've found a couple of British OTAs, but they don't seem to accept foreign addresses, so those are out. Is there any way to book P&O without booking directly? Are there any British TAs here on FlyerTalk ..read more

I think the title says it all, but what's everyone's favorite (or the most reliable/accurate) website for wave height forecasts? I like to know what to expect ahead of time so I know when or if I need to pop a Dramamine.
Thanks for the info ..read more

Hubs and I did a 6 night cruise last week on the Celebrity Reflection. Port stops were Grand Cayman, Cozumel, and Bimini. Overall it was a really nice time. It was my second cruise, his third. While we aren't "cruisers" we both think that when we're in the mood for a low-effort, do-nothing, resort-type vacation a cruise can be nice. We both tend to prefer vacations that are more active and more self-directed exploring. We booked a guarantee Concierge class stateroom. Concierge class is a veranda stateroom that is a little bigger than normal and includes a few extras, like binoculars, a welcome ..read more
