I'm thinking of a cruise from Italy to Spain in September. I've been on a couple of small ship cruises recently and covid wasn't a problem. But last year we went on a Princess cruise which was a very large ship. We noticed there were a lot of people coughing and sneezing, and there were several medical evacuations and disembarkments. When we got home we discovered we had covid. FWIW, we are fully vaccinated. I realize this can happen on any ship, but does anyone have recent experiences on large ships? We're not hearing about it on the news anymore, but I'm convinced most of the sick people on ..read more

This will be our first cruise in Europe. Are there people at the ports that you can hire on the spot to go see sights like there are at other ports in the Carribean, etc. We have found these to be really nice and quite frankly all the tours are sold out off the cruise line. I usually do not take the cruises tours, but I feel kinda stuck now. Thank you in advance. We are going on the Regal Princess leaving out of South Hampton on June 8th ..read more

We are planning an Alaskan cruise for this year and I am finding that there are SO many options! We are looking at a 9 - 11 day cruise. Wondering a couple things and would like to get your expert opinion! What is the best month to go? What is the best ship to book and what ship(s) should we steer clear of? We are in Northern California, so sailing out of San Francisco was very appealing. Would anyone recommend flying up to Washington or Alaska and starting the cruise from there? Thank in advance for your assistance ..read more

Has anyone else had glitches with the Princess app? I booked a cruise and through the desk top and my phone browser I can log on to Princes dot com but per the app on my phone its glitchy. I get messages about server issues or I can log on though there is no booking number but when adding my booking number there is a message noting it belongs to another party. Weird. I have fulling registered and we are "green." Then earlier today I logged on using my booking number, name, DOB, etc. and it s fine, no issues. Has anyone else had similar issues? Thank you ..read more

Hi! Totally unfamiliar with Greece. And never cruised Europe. , So i welcome tips on how to get a great experience for my 3 generation family of 5 without breaking the bank (or skimping) Here's my parameters I'm trying to hit: 5 Travelers: Me & husband (40's), 2 sons (12,14), and my mom (70's, adventurous but needs to walk slow!) Mom is starting dialysis in the next year or two and wants to visit Greece via cruise (it can be short like 3-5 nights & we can supplement with an extra day or two on land pre/post boarding) + Start/End in Messina, Italy to visit our family there for a couple ..read more

Languages on Queen Mary 2 transatlantic trip

We're considering home to Italy on the Queen Mary 2 the next time we visit the US. One thing that concerns me is that my husband speaks little English. Are there any activities in other languages? For instance, does the cinema show any foreign language films? Do they provide headsets that allow you to hear a dubbed version of a film? Is there wifi on board? If so, is it outrageously expensive? 8 days on a ship without any activities for a non-English speaker doesn't sound like much fun. We are considering a winter trip, so sitting on the deck doesn't really attract us either ..read more
