Hello, I am having trouble figuring out what this diode is based off the stripes. It looks like RED, BLUE, BLACK, which seems like it would be a 1n26 or 1n260 but I cannot find any others listed anywhere. I've seen a 1n270 with RED, PURPLE, BLACK, but that's as close as I've gotten. Any help would be much appreciated ..read more

Hi, I’m looking to find the model number for this which I’ve just obtained. After switching it on for the first time the red resistor fried which may or may not have been caused by a loosely fitted valve. I’m also seeking information on the cartridge, original? Replacement? Many thanks in advance ..read more

This large 3 speed fan has been in the house since 1982. Sometimes it will not start on slow speed, but if forced into life on fast, it will get up to speed. There is an odd vibration noise from the motor when it first starts. Once running it keeps running on ALL speeds at the correct speed. The vibration then stops! I can't think that this is a motor winding problem, or a start/run capacitor type of fault. I thought that the only bearing on these fans is in the motor itself... I've not looked inside it before I get some advice from the wise. Am I right in believing that the nut that holds the ..read more

Hi Folks I picked up this mains / battery set which employs the DK32, DF33, DAC32, DL33 and a metal rectifier. When I took a look underneath I was a bit surprised how work would have to be done, Now I could by looking at the manufacturers information work out what caps needed replacing but what I cannot figure out is where indeed would that stray 10k resistor go, was it for the cathode bias on the o/p valve and even looking at the left hand three pin socket for the frame aerial of which I have got to source one to replace it. Here are a couple of pictures. Ken ..read more

Hello, I'm looking for a replacement mains transformer for a Toshiba C2290B - unfortunately mine has a short and is blowing the main fuse, with nothing else connected. The service manual does not give any specific part no. so I attach here a pic of the transformer, and a pic of it in the schematic. The service manual does state that it's output is 106v (via the primary tap - its more like an autotransformer), with an additional secondary output of circa 27v. I'm open to any suggestions as to a suitable replacement for this part. I have space to add a second transformer so could do this with tw ..read more

Greetings from a new person here. I am writing to see whether there are members of this site that have familiarity with the Philips Auto Mignon. Mine came to me sealed, new old stock. I asked a specialist to install the enclosed cable for the turntable into my Blaupunkt Essen Series V radio. I plugged the Philips into the radio and found it worked well - almost. The Mignon, model AG2101D/25a allows the record to be played only if the record is pushed twice. The first insertion causes the needle to almost drop onto the record. It appears to need another shove. Otherwise the needle hangs up abov ..read more
