Seeing DMR ARS transmissions on 453.425 CC6. Twenty transmissions from five different RIDs between 2:45p and 3:10p, but nothing since then (1 hour). No voice transmissions noted yet. More information on ARS can be found here MOTOTRBO: ARS .
Does anyone know who this user is? In the Chicago area, 453.425 is licensed to the CTA, but I've never seen any reports of them using DMR for anything ..read more

Hi everyone,
I hope you’re all doing well. I’m in the warehouse business, and we’re currently using Motorola CP185 radios. With our team growing, we now need additional radios—about six more—but are looking for more affordable options.
Could you recommend any radios that would be compatible with the CP185 right out of the box, or would they need programming to ensure compatibility? Our budget is $150. For reference, here are the basic specifications of the CP185:

Hey guys, I’ve got a question/idea that I didn’t know if it was possible or how hard it would be to do. And if this isn’t exactly the right section of someone knows where I should post it let me know and I’ll be happy to move it to the correct place
So what I’m wondering is if there is a way to sort of run speech-to-text on an audio recording or stream locally.

I have a XTS 5k and I’m having a horrible time trying to get 2 tone to alert on the radio. I have MDC and DTMF both set up no problem but can’t seem to get QC to work. Under the conventional tab have a system built and under call list about 30 departments in. Under conventional personality have QC activated with the system number and under QC Tab have it set to “call alert decode” finally have a zone set with a dispatch channel (QC personality assigned to dispatch channel) tones come across...

1. With the switch to automated dispatch by GRFD and the new paging talkgroup being added I haven't heard anything on the other traditional station alert talkgroups. Are these talk groups no longer being used?
2. 41GRFD754 has the description tag of "Fire Ops 3" but doesn't have a corresponding alpha tag to it nor is there an Ops 1 or Ops 2
3. I have a family member thats apart of one of the fire departments in kent county. In his radio the GRINT channels do not have the typical prefix of...

Most State Troopers use a call sign that begins with the letter of their Troop. Like Troop G troopers will use a sign like G123 etc. However, I’ve heard over the scanner several time of Troopers using a T call sign. There is no Troop T so what does T mean, commercial vehicle enforcement perhaps ..read more
