Just wondering which radio stations in the British Isles are still in their original premises?
If we ignore the BBC national stations from Broadcasting House, as that gets slightly tricky - (Radio 2 from Western House, or should that be the Light Programme sort of question), what are the longest serving radio premises?
I would imagine that Swansea Sound - Gowerton - September 1974 and Radio Forth - Forth House - January 1975 must be two of the oldest still at the same site.
Are there other good examples from stations that started pre 2000 ..read more

Due to changes that are currently happening on the Rayo app I gave Clyde 1 which is part of Hits Scotland a listen. I was impressed with the dance programs they were putting out which you don't get on Hits Radio UK. England and Wales. There is also a localised show The GBXperience on Clyde 1 which is like listening to Alex Pepper on Galaxy 105 all over again. Well worth listening if you're into dance music ..read more

Just listening to Radio X CR on the way home, it juts said ' Playing the loudest rock in history' before playing 'Get in On' by Bolan. If that's their idea of loud rock they are seriously deluded, considered reporting them to Trading Standards after I stopped laughing ..read more

Can anyone recommend a good quality MP3 player for podcasts? I've used an iPod touch for ages, but obviously they are no longer being produced. I could buy a refurbished one I suppose, but I’d like something new. I want something that has a good battery life and has internet access. I basically want the best Android version of an iPod, if anyone has any ideas ..read more

Have to admit, this is a station I thought they would never have due to having the Smooth brand. But it doesn't seem too bad. Obviously there are some songs that cross over, most of them they don't really play on Smooth ..read more

So it started when Absolute Radio launched what is Absolute 80s which became more popular than Absolute. Following the success of Absolute Radio 80s there then was Absolute 90s followed by a 60s and 70s station soon after. Smooth additionally launched a 70s radio station that did not last long. Now here is a list of what you have today.

Given that the BBC, LBC, talkRADIO and Times Radio will more than likely be announcing their US Election coverage in the next few weeks, I'm just wondering will you be listening to it on the radio and if so, which station? As usual with elections, it will be the BBC for me (either through Radio 4 or 5 Live this time though unlike the UK Election ..read more

I love this station, mainly because I love a bit of pop and when I commuted I would listen to this on the way home, but its ratings are suffering.
I recently had to take a group of friends (my swimming team) on a two-hour drive on Saturday, most of the stations in the evening were very sombre and so put on HEAT and amongst a 30/40-year-old group, it was very popular until they heard the name.
So... do we think it is the association with a magazine that most people don't read, or just doesn't advertise what the radio is? what about renaming it HITS POP ..read more

Has anyone noticed a rapid increase in advertising/promotions on Radio 2? I don' listen that often any more (having moved mostly to GHR) but do still like a few shows. Pick of the Pops is the worst with a trail virtually after every song Whether it's promoting a BBC TV show, another Radio 2 show or something on sounds, it's quite painful ..read more
