I know it is a long way to Christmas and I am not trying to rush the season, but I would like to see someone come out with a PCC streetcar. Both the pre-war as we ll as the post war versions could share the same mechanism with only the shell differing. I know we have the old Bachmann PCC but Bachmann or anyone else can do a lot better and save us the clunky details along with the white gears that are prone to fail. Bachmann's Peter Witt cars were heads and shoulders above their older PCC....

When I inserted pictures into my recent Interlocking Tower 24 thread they came out really big on the screen. These were pictures I took with my Android phone and they were huge - like 26in tall x 72 pixels, around 1.4 megabytes in size. I did some experimenting with an image editor and found that an image about 6 in tall x 100px deep produced a much smaller image (150 kb) and it seems to look pretty good on the screen.
To test this, I would like to re-size the images on my recent thread to...

This Bachmann Digital Controller is a powerful system that allows you to take control of your DCC-controlled trains. The system is compatible with Digital Command Control (DCC) and is easy to use. The command center allows you to run up to four trains at once and has the ability to store up to 9 locomotive addresses. This makes it perfect for model railroads and train enthusiasts of all levels.
New to DCC or want to try it at an affordable price. I used the Bachmann EZ Command Controller...

Welcome back to the gateway to the weekend and welcome to MAY! Personally, the month of May holds a special spot in my heart. It's the gateway to my favorite season, filled with outdoor activities like railfanning. Of course, it also means one of my favorite shows is just around the corner. Last weekend it looked like a lot of maintenance was done, boilers were tested, hotels went up and building was at a feverish pitch. Let's keep it going and see what we have for goals this week....

I recently came into a bunch of MR's from the sixties from my step-son who got them from a guy, free, when he bought a layout from him.
I have quite a few of them already but I didn't really start buying them until late 1967 when I became involved in actual N scale (after Treble-O-Lectric).
It's interesting how much earlier some things happened than I had thought. Linn Westcott was designing and building transistorized throttles actually in the late fifties and publishing several articles...
