What seems like a daily occurrence from as far back as I can remember, there seem to be constant reliability issues between London Paddington and Reading.
Whether it be an infrastructure issue or a train fault, this is something which regularly occurs on this section of the GWML.

Rail regulator’s review leads to 50% reduction in maximum fees for ticket refunds28 March 2024
New rules will mean that from 2 April the maximum fee that train operators and ticket retailers can charge when an unused rail ticket is refunded will be reduced from £10 to £5.

Hi all,
I had a very stressful and unpleasant experience on my trip into work yesterday morning, having been issued a Penalty Fare Notice in circumstances which I feel are really unfair. A bit of a vent, but I want to say that my stress was compounded by the fact that my planned connection on that trip was already cancelled (so I was already going to be late into work), and the night previously every direct train was cancelled for 4 hours in a row, so my only option was a convoluted journey...

Can someone confirm that a cross-London through ticket from, say, West Hampstead to the Brighton Line / south coast / etc would be valid via Kensington Olympia (and Clapham Junction etc) as well as via an Underground or Thameslink route across the centre.
